Harvest Ready

Greetings from the Cooperation Operation!

We have been on the ground every day maintaining and expanding our garden. With the help of volunteers, we've made much progress tending our garden, cleaning up the lot, building more beds and sharing the fruits of our labor by hosting cookouts after volunteer days.

Moving our newly constructed garden beds into place with our neighbors.

Recently, we've also participated in some community events such as the Pullman Garden Walk, The Pullman Family Reunion and our first Farmer's Market in Roseland.

Beyond all of the work on the ground, we've also been working together to create and send out the rewards we promised to all of our backers. We're happy to report that most of the rewards have been sent out or are in the final stages. Our newsletter, cooking video and photograph will be coming out shortly, so please stay tuned. We would like to thank you all again for believing in us and supporting our project. We wouldn't be able to do this without you.

Moving Forward

Thanks to your support, a previously abandoned lot has been transformed into a burgeoning community garden.

We have spent the last month nurturing our plants and building more garden beds out of re-purposed boats and cemented cinder blocks. Some new additions include chamomile, cabbage, walking onions, mustard greens, lettuce, watermelon, mint, and fennel. Our squash is fruiting and beets are on the way. Currently we have four lettuce varieties, spinach, basil, green onions and radishes ready for harvest.

We would like to take this chance to let you know about our upcoming Volunteer Day on Saturday, July 27th. We're calling in volunteers to help raise our new greenhouse, our first major purchase thanks to our successful Kickstarter. If you'd like to stop by and lend a hand or just come by to check out our progress and hang out, we'll be working from 11-4, then cooking out afterwards.

Seeing- and tasting- is believing. Thanks again.
