A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

We are raising funds at this time to bring these incredibly functional insoles to the main market. Our full production sets of molds are finished, all testing is complete, and the first load of Dynamic Performance insoles are on the way.
What will we do? Even though our insoles outperform any others on the market selling at $55 and above, moving consumers away from "the old standby" Brands is difficult at the beginning and takes time, dedication and, yes, funds. We have covered all costs so far, and brought these great products to the point where breaking into the market fully is the next step. Showing people that something new, and better, is actually the way to go is what we need to concentrate on going forward, and we need your support.
Dynamic® Sports Development LLC introduces the first over-the-counter Orthotic performance insole built to provide cushion and energy return, and relief from Arch Pain, Foot pain, Plantar Fasciitis, and even relief for Diabetic Neuropathy.
Biomechanically engineered with a patent pending Carbon Fiber reinforced Flex-Arch® support system allowing your arch to be supported and naturally flex at the same time. These performance insoles also feature Coolmax® top lining, AGion® anti-Microbial silver nitrate infusion, full PU and dual density impact point PORON® shock pad cushioning. Finally, Dynamic® Performance insoles feature a fully injected and carbon fiber lined Flex-Arch/heel cup for gait control/alignment.
These insoles outperform all other insoles on the market today, and not only relieve foot and arch pain, but help in the prevention of injuries associated with unprotected shocks and impacts traveling from your foot, to the ankle, to the knee, to the hip, and into the lower back.

Risks and challenges
The Challenges- The leaders on the market today have made no real technical or functional improvements to their product in over 10 years. The only real changes have been to make fancier packaging, nicer colors, and the price- it has gone up.
But they have "a name" in the marketplace.
Our challenge is to be able to show the consumers that Dynamic Insoles are by far the better choice for performance, for pain relief, and for injury prevention. All of you Kickstarter supporters will become our first large wave in getting that message out to the market, because once you get your insoles and wear them a bit, we are confident that you will have the same reaction as all of our wear and fit-testers- these things are great! For walking, hiking, running, training, sports etc.
How good are they? We had the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) do a review of these insoles straight out of the box. Their response was that the preliminary review shows that the Dynamic Insole would qualify as a Medical Device- right out of the box, over-the-counter! Few if any others can make that claim.
The Risks? That we cannot gain enough traction in the market to break through the established "name" products in a reasonable amount of time.
