A chance to shape the future has arrived! Imagine a world where education is not just something forced upon young children in school, but is a lifelong pursuit done for pleasure, where curiosity compels young minds to scour the universe for better understanding of the known and the always intriguing unknown. Will this children's dragon book accomplish all that? Probably not, but it is an elegant step in the right direction. It is common knowledge that a dragon's breath can spark the fire that melts indifference into desire. I would like to use dragons to foster a positive addiction to literature that will spread like a dragon's wings, letting kids everywhere take flight for other fine thoughts that await them, locked in the pages of dusty books.
How, you ask? With a simple yet gripping story. A story that starts way up near the North Pole, the home of the only two dragons left in the entire world. Damion and Schlag spend their nights playing tag across the tundra till tragedy strikes when Schlag suddenly disappears. Damion is stricken by sadness and confusion until a brave little lemming steps forward to reveal that Schlag has been kidnapped by cavemen. Damion is shocked, unable to understand how cavemen could have made off with his friend, but he gathers up his determination and sets off.
This is the story of Damion's quest to rescue his last friend from the sinister clutches of cavemen. Replete with vivid illustrations, "The Last Two" activates the imagination, transporting children on a whimsical adventure that shapes the history of dragonkind and chisels out the meaning of friendship
