What is Par 9?
Par 9 is an original comedy series that follows the failed exploits of four 20-something guys who try desperately to save their inherited golf course from financial ruin. There are bees overtaking the porta-potties, clashing egos among the staff, and an underground weed operation that could result in the course's demise. Together, four young and unqualified losers must work together to patch together what remains of this sorry excuse for a golf course.
What will the project funds be used for?
The majority of the funding for Par 9 will go towards purchasing better gear than we have now. The series will be shot with multiple cameras, a full lighting kit, and professional sound equipment. We've already arranged to check out some of the gear from local film outlets, but we'll still need to make a number of purchases on the technical end. A small portion of the Kickstarter money, and funds raised from other outlets, will go towards paying the crew for their work. We are excited to work with the challenge of shooting a short series on an incredibly limited budget. No expense will be wasted, and every detail of the shoot is being meticulously planned out, so as to cut down on squandered time and money.
When can I expect to see the finished product? What about my donation rewards?
The series will be filmed this coming July. I will be releasing one episode every week on my "Gus Johnson" YouTube channel this coming October. If you donated to the project, you can expect your individual rewards to be fulfilled this June. If you have any additional questions about this project, your donations, or your rewards, please contact me at email@example.com. Thank you so much for supporting this project that means so much to me and many others.
Risks and challenges
Right now, we foresee no debilitating challenges to our project. We have all of our locations nailed down, with complete access to the main golf course at any hour of the day. This is due to the fact that the course is owned and operated by the grandmother of one of the principal cast members.
Every episode has been completely structured, and scripts will be done by mid-late may. The actors will have two months to prepare with the scripts, and we all live close-by for lots of rehearsal.
All of our cast and crew members have been secured, and we already have access to one of our primary cameras, and some lighting elements. A chunk of our Kickstarter money may have to go to purchasing our second main camera, but we have a number of backup options, if need be.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
