About this project
The Movement Workshop Group is creating a new exciting dance short showcasing its work over the past seven years. Working with filmmaker Alex Fischer, the company will revisit some of its most memorable pieces and stage them around the New York City area. The project will serve as an additional piece in MWG's collaborative work as well as a new promotional tool to bring the company to new audiences.
-Behind the Scenes of Day 2
Imagine a short film that combines inventive dance pieces, original music, striking images, and a simple yet poignant story leaving you wanting more. MWG aims to create this very piece, taking five of its most exciting dances and setting them in different locations around New York City. The story follows a man; a man running for his life. His journey through city streets binds together dance, music, and passion as the clock runs down to the moment he fears most...
With the combined efforts of Leslie Guyton (Artistic Director), Alex Fischer (Film Maker), Liza Hostetler-Ingalls & Pauline Legras (Choreographers), and Colin Summers (Composer & Lyricist), this production is sure to bring a new element to the Movement Workshop Group and its body of work.

Though the production team is small and the time commitment short, there are still expenses attached to such an endeavor. MWG is reaching out to you in order to obtain rehearsal studios, costumes, transportation, and equipment rentals for the project. Your generosity will make all of this possible.
The Movement Workshop Group is a collaborative of many different artists who jointly create pieces of movement/dance theater in order to entertain, provoke, and enlighten audiences around the country. The group combines acting, dance, and live music to tell inspiring and heartfelt tales centered around humanity and the journey of life.
In addition to its devised performance work, MWG is also a teaching entity. The company provides communities in Brooklyn and Manhattan with classes in Graham Modern, Ballet, Hip Hop, Salsa, Contemporary, Composition and Commercial dance at low rates. Believing that everyone should have access to dance, MWG has helped to foster the arts community by ensuring affordable classes of quality to individuals seeking dance training.
