Hello Dystopians,

Yes, it's James! I'm looking a little different today, due to our latest project. Read on to find out more...

No major updates today, but I wanted to touch base as the year ends, to share our current status on all rewards, post an update from Eddy, and let you in on the latest project from Onyx Path that uses the Storypath system - the same system that forms the spine of Dystopia Rising: Evolution!

First, an update from Eddy:

Hello, survivors! Eddy again, with a couple updates before we wrap up the year.

As I mentioned last month, the core rulebook is still in editing. The incomparable Dixie Cochran is looking it over, and I have complete faith in her ability to make sure the material is the best it can be.

The plan is to have them edited by Midwinter Gaming Convention, so I can give the rules one last spin before I send them off to layout. So, if you're planning to be in Milwaukee from January 10-13, I'll be running a game of it!

Plus, the incomparable Wrecking Crew will be running a game as well!

And Michael Pucci will be running a one-on-one CANONICAL game with the lucky backer (and three friends) who pledged at the PERSONAL HORROR level.

It's amazing to think that, at Midwinter last year, we were just announcing Dystopia Rising for the first time. And now there will be three games of it running, and we're close to actually putting it into production! Our estimated delivery for the PDF is September 2019, so we're definitely on track to hit that release. Before long, you will be fighting raiders and arguing with other strains in the comfort of your own home.

The Evolution is coming!

And, just a reminder to confirm your rewards in your BackerKit survey, if you haven't done so already.

Speaking of which...

The Kickstarter for They Came From Beneath The Sea! is now live!

They Came From Beneath The Sea! is a new tabletop RPG from Onyx Path, encompassing the wonder, horror, thrills, and hilarity of 1950s science fiction. This game evokes all that is great in the B-movies of decades ago, and provides a dynamic, fun experience at the table.

The players, as humans, live in a world under increasing attack. The attackers? Aliens from beneath the sea, obviously!

Adventures can range from the one-shot defense of small coastal town, to the lengthier liberation of a cruise ship invested with gill-kin, all the way to a campaign in which characters seize an alien submarine and ride it all the way down to the sea bed to take the fight to the invaders.

Put down your malt shakes, turn on the jukebox, and prepare your harpoons! You don’t want to be caught unawares when it’s revealed that They Came From Beneath The Sea!

Oh btw, since the backer shirt featured the same art as the cover mockup from the kickstarter can we consider the cover image to be final?

@shawn hanson: I know for sure they’re working hard and learning from past challenges. Fingers crossed recent trends continue with applied effort!

@James aye, seen in the monday updates that art finals are trickling in. The apparent timeline is like a light for some of us that've backed other OP kickstarters that have languished in limbo like Exalted or Wraith 20.

This is an "I'm going to regret this but I'll take one last chance due to the IP" for me as a gamer regarding the company so I'm paying a lot of attention, they've killed WoD in my eyes. I must say I do like what they've done with the storypath tool kit so far.

@shawn hanson: that’s the expected Path, though there’s a long period of art direction in there that adds time. Looking forward to hearing how the Midwinter games go!

So edited by Jan 10, tested again at the Con, then if all goes well off to layout for advance backer files so we can hunt for page xx and syntax/spelling/grammar that slipped thru?
