I'm immensely angry and upset that the awful chapter history of dinosaurs and humans living side-by-side in the Mesozoic was kept without even a single word changing! This chapter is a horribly huge retcon, utterly nonsensical, and ridiculous. Several Mokole fans complained about this gigantic and nonsensical retcon and multiple developers assured us on Kickstarter that you would make changes to remove the retcon. Instead not one word has changed! NOT ONE! What happened to this promise!? I'm very VERY angry!
Blatantly breaking a promise is even worse than if the devs had said from the beginning "we don't give a shit what your opinions are, this isn't Open Dev and we're going to retcon anything we want and we don't want your feedback shut up." Admitting that it was a retcon and that Mokole fans disliked it, promising to modify it, and then breaking that promise, is even more obnoxious than just telling us that you don't value fan opinions.
People have already received links?
I don't even receive Kickstarter emails when updates are posted.
I'll check my KS inbox.
If you've not had a link through its worth checking your spam folder. I think mine came through at just before 9pm EST (if I'm working out my time difference right) last night. It looks absolutely incredible.
Based on what I believe I know from my experiences from the other KickStarters from Onyx Path:
KickStarter notices are going out in batches, as each batch has to be customized by Rich and then sent the appropriate individuals with the correct links, etc.
KickStarter will leave you a notice here that you have a message, and (if your preferences are set up to receive them) an Email of that KickStarter message with links and such.
The link will take you to DriveThruRPG.com, and to a "Preview" edition of the W20 Changing Breeds. This file cannot be searched, or gotten to by the general public and is only accessable through the personalize URL you're given (basically a coupon code for one free copy.) This version will continue to be updated and altered as edits are made.
When the final Public version of the book is released to the public, you will still only have access (through your Library) of the "Preview" edition, but as with all other Onyx Path "Preview" editions, it will be updated the same as the Public version if there are additional changes in the future.
If I'm incorrect, please let me know. :)
Where's this link supposed to be at DTRPG? I certainly haven't gotten any notice to date. Though some like @Simon Edwards below have apparently gained it.
Got it. Thanks Rich.
So do we get this Pdt here or do we look in our drivethrurpg account or what?
So is there a chance I could change one of the names I have submitted to be listed in the back of the book.
Better late than never as the saying goes, though I'd honestly prefer now ;-)
Woot. I can't wait. Thanks again to the Onyx Path team.
@Richard Thomas - Smart move in doing that, given the problems plaguing W20.
Otherwise, can't wait to see the finished pdf.
OMG! so excited to see this! I can't wait!
@Richard Thomas: Thanks. :) I think I knew this before, but good to hear it again. :)
@Arthur Black leatherette, different texture, emboss- can't do cuts.
Christmas arrived two months earlier this year. That's GRRRRR-eat news, Richard.
Will the cover treatment match the W20 Deluxe, or will there be some changes to its appearance (a different texture, an embossed title rather than claw-marks, etc.)
Fantastic! Can't wait to see it! :)
Great news, looking foreword too it
