First Beckett's Update of 2019

Posted by Richard Thomas (Creator)

Hello Beckett's Backers!

RichT here:

We want to start the new year out with a list of the upcoming Vampire: The Masquerade projects we're working on for the 5th Edition, and where they are at in our production process:

First Draft (The first phase of a project that is about the work being done by writers, not dev prep)

  • Chicago Folio/Dossier (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition) CbN Stretch Goal.
  • Let The Streets Run Red (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition) CbN Stretch Goal.
  • V5 Cults of the Blood Gods (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)

  • V5 Chicago By Night (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)
  • V5 Chicago By Night Screen (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)

As things progress, we'll keep you updated, although probably not monthly at this point. You can check the weekly progress list on my Monday Meeting Notes blog on if you want to keep a closer eye on how our VtM projects are going. Thanks!

Coming on February 12 at 2pm Eastern US time, the Kickstarter for Lunars: Fangs at the Gate for Exalted 3rd Edition will go live!

Chicago By Night KS Final Reminder!

Posted by Richard Thomas (Creator)

Hello Prince's Gambit Backers!

Just a note to let you know that we are in the FINAL DAYS!

Chicago By Night, an updated edition of White Wolf’s classic city book, is Onyx Path Publishing’s first supplement for Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition.

Right now, backers have been provided with most of the approved text of the book, and we're getting some amazing and positive feedback on the writing!

We're down to the last 48 hours, so please join us and over 1600 other backers as we smash through the final Stretch Goals! Here's the link:

Later in December, we'll start the They Came From Beneath the Sea! Kickstarter. Come and check out a very new and different way to play the Storypath System!

October Beckett's Chicago...By Night!

Posted by Richard Thomas (Creator)

Hello Beckett's Jyhad Diary backers!

RichT here:

As promised, we're letting you know that our current Vampire: The Masquerade project, Chicago By Night for V5, is now live on Kickstarter!

Chicago lies at the center of the web that is the American heartland. Tendrils of power, wealth, and reward stretch outward, ensnaring the selfish, greedy, and unwary.

Yet, Chicago attracts its predators, too.

There are creatures that would have the city for their own, spinning their own webs of malice and intrigue. But among the city’s towering skyscrapers and wind-swept streets, who is the spider and who is the fly?

We'll be releasing sections of the text throughout the month this KS runs, and you'll be able to see pretty much all of the text before we're done - and we'll be running that text right over to editing and layout as fast as our bat wings allow. We want to this Kickstarter to follow in the mold of our Cavaliers of Mars and Monarchies of Mau KSs and release earlier than estimated.

Everybody want folks to be exploring Chicago's shadowed streets ASAP!

Expect some very cool Stretch Goal rewards as well as new Add-on items to be revealed during the course of the campaign as well, and if it all works out we'll be using this Kickstarter as a springboard to putting V5 Chicago By Night in retail stores!

Here's the link:

Hope to see you there!

September Beckett's Update!

Posted by Richard Thomas (Creator)

Hello Beckett's Jyhad Diary backers!

RichT here:

Very brief note to let you know that we are still aiming at having the Kickstarter for V5 Chicago By Night in October, but we have not yet set the date it will go live. We are working with White Wolf on the text, and I don't want to go live with the KS until we have the text finalized - or at least 95% of it - and can preview it to backers during the Kickstarter.

But once everyone is good with it, we'll announce all over the place when the KS will start, don't you worry!

One other thing: if you have missed out on Prince's Gambit, the Vampire: The Masquerade casual card game by Justin Achilli, it's now available through distribution for you and your local Friendly Local Gaming Store by our sales partners at Studio2. So you can ask your store to order it through their usual distributors.

And soon we'll have a base set and a booster pack for Prince's Gambit available through! More news and links for that as the proofs from DriveThruCards are approved.

August Beckett's Update!

Posted by Richard Thomas (Creator)

Hello Beckett's Jyhad Diary Backers!

RichT here:

We're wrapping up resolving shipping issues for a handful of Deluxe V20 Beckett's Jyhad Diary rewards. So if you are still having any issues with receiving your rewards, please use the Contact link in my bio accessed there on the right side of the KS page.

I mentioned last month that we were going to be at Gen Con in the beginning of August and while we were there we announced that Onyx Path is creating the Vampire 5th Edition version of Chicago by Night!

We're super excited to be returning to Chicago and being able to work with the new version of VtM under the careful development eye of Matthew Dawkins and a great line-up of writers.

More news when we have it, but we expect the text to be finished in time for a Kickstarter in October, so keep an eye out!

 Meanwhile, At Our Current Kickstarter:

A post-apocalyptic setting featuring a mash up of Mad Max, Walking Dead, and the X-Men - plus so much more! The original edition spawned a live-action sensation, and now the game has come full-circle as Dystopia Rising: Evolution, a new edition of the tabletop roleplaying game that uses Onyx Path's Storypath System and incorporates and advances the setting as built by players and writers over many years.

Dystopia Rising: Evolution includes all the rules you need to play as a survivor in the post-apocalypse, including rules for creating characters for up to 24 different Strains, variations on humanity that survived the Fall. It also has details on the powers of faith and psionics, along with advice on running action-adventure stories, webs of personal intrigue, or procedural investigations. And, finally, dozens of antagonists, including a variety of zombies and raiders to use in your series.

If that sounds interesting to you, and you'd like to help re-build society and forge new communities after the Fall, come check it out!
