I must apologize for the long period of silence from me. I should not have let this much time go by without an update. After the new year, while some of the crew for NLB was traveling, I began work on a play - hopefully you heard about it on my blog or from twitter. It is a production of The 39 Steps and I'm quite proud of it. We've gotten excellent reviews and wonderful audience reaction. But it has also been a huge commitment - long rehearsal hours and a ton of work.
During that period, I had time for little else - but also got the opportunity to start DLC on the 5by5 Network. That opportunity grew directly out of NLB and this kickstarter, and I am extremely grateful to all of you for making it possible. I'm proud of that show, too, and I hope you've had a chance to give it a listen. But it filled the few hours I was not rehearsing the play, and I neglected updates here. I apologize for that. Many of you have contacted me on twitter asking about Newest Latest Best.
The original goal for NLB was to create 3 episodes. With our last stretch goal, we announced we would quadruple that number. We actually made 13 episodes in 2013, with a paid crew, an on-location PAX Australia special, and a big budget pilot in there, too. I am proud of them. I want to make more. I continue to try to find a home for the show, and hope to have good news on that front in the coming months.
In the meantime, while NLB is on hiatus, I hope you'll listen to DLC for my videogames coverage at 5by5.tv/dlc. I'm expecting some cool news about where you can find movie reviews from me, soon, too. But I also plan to do a lot more with the YouTube channel that NLB built in 2014. If you haven't already subscribed, I hope you do. Soon, youtube.com/cannatajeff will have more updates and more content. It may be more casual and less produced than NLB, but I think you'll like it.
There are still a few of you for whom I owe multiplayer gaming sessions or Skype calls, and I am truly sorry it has taken me so long to get through these. I promise to get to all of these commitments as my play winds down. It has been a very enjoyable experience talking and playing with people, and I am looking forward to doing so with you, too. I am grateful for your patience.
For the few people who never received their shirt or hoodie, again, I am sorry. I will be ordering replacements very soon. Please email me at email@example.com if I haven't already contacted you directly.
Thank you all again for all your support last year. I'm hoping you'll be even more proud of what you see from me in 2014.
