Craft Ceramic Whiskey Glass - By King Ceramic
Why use the Craft Ceramic Whiskey Glass?
As a huge fan of whiskey, I have always played around with different whiskey glass designs to use with my favorite bourbon. King Ceramic is proud to bring you a great design for our "Craft Ceramic Whiskey Glass" for all your sipping needs. These cups are created with care as well as a lot of 'blood, sweat, and tears' during in the labor-intensive process of woodfiring.
An inspired form from the traditional tulip tasting glasses with a more unique presentation in the beautiful craftsmanship. Tradition meets function with important features:
- Hybrid design from tulip tasting glass and lowball glass for the best of both worlds.
- Shape allows the whiskey to breathe as well as direct aromas to your nose during a sip.
- Thicker foot helps insulate against excessive warming from your hand because ceramic is more superior at insulating than glass.
- Beveled bottom makes for comfortable resting position of the glass.
- Contoured lip provides a more comfortable experience.
Attention to detail:
As a ceramic artist for over 20 years, I am always paying the closest attention to detail. If you are familiar with ceramics, you know that many things need special attention otherwise sub-par results are to be had. With my experience in both the ceramics field, as well as the drinking whiskey field, I am certain to bring you a most enjoyable experience with your glass. Each piece will be specially crafted with the utmost care as well as having thorough quality control measures implemented to ensure you get the best product possible.
Each piece is carefully created in my studio in the mountains of Taipei, Taiwan. Once I have created them, I take them to be fired in an Anagama style wood kiln. This process of woodfiring takes 4-5 long days of around the clock supervision with our much appreciated firing team stoking wood into the kiln. The ash that is deposited on the pieces creates beautifully unique, one of a kind variations in the surfaces. These hallmark variations in the surfaces and labor intensive firing processes make highly sought after results.
These firings only happen with our crew two to three times in a year, and have produced ever increasingly excellent results. Our wood is sourced from a furniture maker that imports select hardwoods to build with. We buy their off-cuts/scrap wood, and ensure none of it is treated with any chemicals before purchasing it. These hardwoods are essential to the firing process, and the best results that you will see in your glass.

Risks and challenges
As with anything in ceramics, there is always a chance for damaged pieces in all parts of the process. This means I will always create more than necessary to ensure I have enough to fulfill any order with the best selection of any firing done. This also means that a whole firing could turn out in a less than satisfactory result and will need to fire/re-fire another kiln to ensure that quality is met. I take my quality control issues seriously, and I will do my best to ensure you will receive the best work possible in a reasonable time frame. If any event should occur that will delay delivery, I will contact all backers affected to address any changes in expected dates of delivery. As the process proceeds forward, expect updates from me periodically to highlight the progress of the campaign.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
