Have a question?
Awfully quiet up in here.
Looking forward to this game, I am wondering how production is going.
Are you still on track to deliver next month? I can't wait to get it!
I miss the podcast
Time for an update guys!
How goes production, last update was about the final files being sent
Also, please update us on this kickstarter when your next kickstarter goes up! :)
Got your post-campaign update! Any news on whether or not you'll be including the tarot-sized cards? Either way, please let us know. I know I'm waited with bated breath so others may be as well. :)
Woohoo! Thanks for the support everyone! We'll get back to you tomorrow with an official update. For now, I celebrate with sleep!
+1 for tarot-sized cards! Sooooo close to the $11k mark!! If we don't hit it, would the creators consider adding them in anyway?
Honestly, I'd really rather not have 2 tarot-size cards - right now you could put all the cards in one small deck box and have an easily portable game.
I agree the Tarot card will really add to the game!
Loving the tarot size player cards. Let's get hose unlocked people! Share share share.
I could translate the rules in French. Could it be possible to have them "in tip top shape" opened pdf ?
@sirjonsnow: Those were just an early draft. We work with a professional editor (the awesome Dustin Schwartz) to make sure the rules are in tip top shape before we go to print.
I noticed the PDF rules on BGG have grammatical/spelling errors - has it been updated and/or are they still being worked on?
Hey! Look at that! Spot UV on the box unlocked!
Bumping this up so new backers know what they can do to help us hot those stretch goals!
Hey everybody, here are QUICK and EASY things YOU can do to support this campaign and help hit those stretch goals!
- send a short email or add a comment to a video of your favourite youtube boardgamer (Rahdo, Dice Tower, Bearded Meeple, Geek Dad, etc.) asking them to cover the Kickstarter before it ends.
- go to the Kicktraq page for the campaign and click on the "visit project" button. Feels redundant, I know but it'll bump up higher in the ranking on Kickstarter.
- Post a comment here! It will also bump this campaign on Kickstarter!
- Ask your friends to back by $1, it will bump us up on Kickstarter by adding backers.
- Increase your pledge by $1 (or more if you want) to help reach the stretch goals.
Also, here are two things you can do to help give the game for more visibility (and therefore more backers) at boardgamegeek.com:
1. go to the main page for the game and become a fan by clicking on the heart. Here's the link:
2. go to the images of the game and click on the little green thumbs-up button. Here's the link:
Woohoo ship tie breaker!!!! Keep on sharing on social folks. Lets knock out these last goals before the end of the week.
On to SPOT UV - I got a chance to play this at GenCon and it was AWESOME I love the evolved Ro Sham Beaux element.
Jason Kotarski is the truth!
Gah! We are so close to unlocking the ship meeple!!!!!!!
It was awesome to stop by your booth at GenCon this past weekend Jason. Thanks for taking the time to demo it and also show me some of the older Green Couch games. I bought two just by your description alone! Seeing Before the Earth Explodes in person was awesome. The component quality you use continues top notch. The demo enforced how killer this game is. I'm glad to be a day one backer and I hope others jump on ship to journey with us to save the earth...well you know...BEFORE IT EXPLODES!!!!!!!!!!
After seeing this at Gen Con, we just had to back it, especially since we are fellow Michiganders. It was nice to meet you guys there.
@Tim- Thanks so much for coming by the booth and for the support! You're making me feel like that trip to Indianapolis was worth it!
Had a chance to try out Before the Earth Explodes at GenCon, and immediately knew I wanted to support this game! Thanks for the demo at the Green Couch booth, and thanks for Before the Earth Explodes!
@Diane- Thanks for wanting to help push the project along. Since I have limited quantities of the mats for precious games I won't be able to add them to the Kickstarter. If I have leftovers from GenCon of the WoF and RRalM mats I'll make those available on the website as well.
We're demoing lots of BTEE at GenCon and it's going over well! We just gotta stay the course!
@DavyWagnarok Woot woot! I appreciate it! You could put me down for a Rocky Road, Wok on Fire, and if greencouchgames.com is accurate... a JurrassAttack and an Avalanche on Yeti Mountain playmat!
@Diane: I can't speak for Jason, but since he's busy with Gen Con stuff right now I thought I'd step in and let you know that I am 100% certain that he has playmats for "Rocky Road a la Mode" and "Wok on Fire". Not sure about the rest, though. I'll hit him up on Facebook about this and either he, myself, or one of the designers will get back in touch with you ASAP! :D
Is there a possibility to Add-On the Playmats offered for all of your awesome Green Couch Games? I already own all of the games but would love to pimp my experience!
@Dave: Thanks, buddy. I am already eager as heck to get my hands on the final product!
@Davy love the art. Congrats!
In the last Update, Jason asked what character from any sci-fi property would we'd want to be and why?
Hmm... I'd have to go with Bowman from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Why? Who wouldn't want to be a giant fetus full of infinite power who floats aimlessly through the vastness of space? :P
In all seriousness, I'd probably have to go with Q from Star Trek. It'd be fun to live in his shoes for a day.
Hey, dudes! I'm the artist for Before the Earth Explodes! I am on vacation right now but I have a few minutes to kill and thought I'd poke my head in the comments and say hello.
@Christopher: Thanks for taking the time to put together a help package! This is great! :D
@Meltdown: Awesome! Glad to hear that!
@Christopher Baughman: Haha! Well, to be honest, I've been getting into cyber punk more recently, but that's still within the realm of sci-fi so that's OK right?! :P I'm currently reading "Vurt" by Jeff Noon. It's so cool! Have you read it?
@Michael: Dr. Who is OP! Imagine putting him in a fighting videogame. Do you think he could take on Superman...?
@Rob McVie: We would get along splendidly. I love all the movies you mentioned. I don't meet too many people who have even heard of Enemy Mine. What a great movie! :D
The cloth bag stretch goal is unlocked!
Woke up to a power outage at my house this morning. I'll get info updated later today!
Saw this game on my Instagram feed and it looks pretty fun! Glad to be a backer!
@Davy What a relief! Now I can relax knowing someone who knows the good stuff is on the team!
Grats on funding, Jason! I hope those stretches are knocked down, too!
Hmmm ... what character would I want to be ...
Probably Doctor Who. When things get really bad, he can regenerate, and he can go anywhere in space and time.
And congrats on funding!
That is great that you made your funding goal!
Congrats Jason! Another success on your hands!
@Steven Alvis: Woohoo! We made it! Now, hopefully we can keep it going!
Congratulations! You're funded!
Thanks for helping us keep moving towards that goal!
Here's a new episode of The 20 Minutes of Filler where I interview our artist/graphic designer, Davy.
Check it out!
Just added on for a copy of Fidelitas! What a great idea.
@Nick- Flight of The Navigator! That was my childhood!
@Rob- It seems you have a very developed palette when it comes to your sci-fi.
Thanks for joining us guys!.
So many on the shelf..
Would have to go with:
Dune, the thing, blade runner, Sunshine and galaxy quest :)
Special mention of HG wells things to come, enemy mine and that last Donald Sutherland scene in invasion of the body snatchers and oh gosh I have to watch so many again....
Favorite Sci-Fi moves:
E.T. - I've forever been addicted Reece's Pieces...
Spaceballs - genius of a movie
Flight of the Navigator - I watched over and over as a kid.
Batteries not included
@Nathan Hatfield: Dude! Loved that movie! Who knew robots could be so adorable?!
From my childhood. Batteries not included. Always made me want a pet alien.
