Amy Lavere takes her music to uncharted territory in Europe in support of her critically acclaimed 2011 release 'Stranger Me.'
It’s uncharted territory – but since when has that scared Amy LaVere? Doing something new. Something unexpected. That’s what we’ve come to expect from the sharp-tongued singer and her gritty, eclectic songwriting. So what’s so tough about a little new territory? And who cares if they speak the language? If there’s one thing Amy has learned since releasing Stranger Me, it’s that heartache is universally translated.
But it turns out there is one tough thing about these uncharted waters: footing the bill to get to them. So here’s where you come in. Amy and her newly expanded four-piece touring band are heading out in November on a 10-city European run that will take them to four countries -- Belgium, Holland, Germany and Denmark, to be precise -- that have never had the pleasure of hearing the pluck of Amy’s upright bass (or the lilting voice of Memphis’ best singer, two years running). And on top of delivering her music to those fine folks, there will be interviews to do and in-studio shows to perform and all the rest of that oh-so-necessary but oh-so-unpaid stuff that comes along with supporting a new record. If you like Amy, if you like Amy’s music, if you like Antwerp -- all you have to do to help make it happen is plop a few coins in the coffers. No matter how big your pockets, you’re sure to get something pretty unique in return.
