About this project
ADD-ON of Nika variant is now available!

Meet the Designer, Josh Raab
“Nika is the ancient Greek word for “Conquer!” The concept of Nika came to me in a dream while I was studying abroad in Athens. The rules were honed across nearly two years of testing. The board shape and core mechanics were inspired by ancient Greek geography and warfare. Greece has many narrow valleys and mountain passes, and sometimes the only way to defeat an enemy force was to collide with them head-on and literally push them off the field. This othismos (“shoving”) is thought to have been the critical phase of most battles between hoplite armies, who were the heavy infantry that dominated ancient Greek war for four centuries. In this game, you command a Greek city’s hoplite soldiers who must force their way through enemy lines. Your troops can push or rout those who would block their way across the narrow battlefield. Coordinate attacks with your ally to secure victory, but make sure to watch your flanks!”
-- Josh Raab, designer of Nika
What do I get for my pledge to Nika?
Eagle Games assures that you will:
.....take pride in knowing that you helped support the first game design of a grad student who wants to make game design his profession! Josh Raab is in his first year of graduate school at NYU Game Center, studying to become a professional game designer. You can be part of his personal history, and when he is famous, you can note your role in helping him achieve his fame. Josh will sign a commemorative certificate which can be posted inside the cover of your game box. This will be available exclusively to Kickstarter Backers!
.....get a copy of this terrific game, as well as any and all of the stretch goals we achieve over the course of the Kickstarter project.
.....get a good price for this game. We expect the MSRP of Nika to be $29.99 when it is released in a few months. You will pay just $20 per game (if you are an Early Bird Hoplite) or $22 per game (if you are a Hoplite) via your Kickstarter pledge.
.....get subsidized shipping. In the US, you will only pay $5 for shipping anywhere in the US. In the EU and Australia and Canada, you will get good shipping rates as we now ship to the EU, Australia and Canada from inside the EU and Australia and Canada.

Risks and challenges
We stand by our products, but sometimes issues do happen. Please contact our customer service with regard to any such issues within 90 days of receiving your copy of Nika.
Shipping issue are relatively uncommon, but they do sometimes occur, especially when shipping to destinations outside of the US. We will obtain tracking information when it is possible, but sometimes it is not. We cannot guarantee that there will not be shipping problems, as we cannot guarantee the service and reliability of the various postal/delivery services involved around the world. You will have to assume that risk along with us.
Eagle Games (and its affiliate Gryphon Games) has completed and delivered on over 22 Kickstarter projects to date, with 3 more Eagle Games currently in various stages of production and delivery. The Game Designer's Toolkit is now in stock, in our warehouse, and will begin shipping to Backers next week (a February delivery date was projected and we will be on time or ahead of this). Dawn: Rise of the Accolytes is currently in production in China. We expect it to be shipped from China in April as projected and delivered to Backers in April or May (as projected). And Defenders of the Realm: Minions has completed most of its printing in China and we are now waiting for plastic miniatures to be completed. Backers have been notified by Updates that we expect shipping from China in April/May and fulfillment in May/June. We had initially hoped for a February delivery. We deliver on our promises reliably and usually on time (the very few delays we have had were related to production issues which we have only, at best, partial control over).
To put it simply, you will get everything you are promised when you pledge to one of our Kickstarter Projects, and it will be delivered to you in as timely a manner as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
