E3 Expo, Funding Goal, Kickstarter Live & More
On behalf of the entire Space Odyssey team, we'd like to first and foremost, say thank you to each of you who have supported our Kickstarter campaign. One of the core tenants of Space Odyssey is collaboration with a passionate community of gamers, fans and those who believe in our Dr. Tyson's vision.
With this Kickstarter campaign, our goal is achieve partial funding to complete game development, create a forum to exchange ideas for what you would like to see in the game and most importantly, build a community to collaborate to help shape the games final development.
The past 2 days have proved to be invaluable, we've been listening to your comments, your suggestions and your feedback in order to shape the decisions moving forward with our development plans. In our first of many Space Odyssey updates, we'd like to start with an update from the E3 conference, address a few of our findings based on your feedback and then outline a few upcoming milestones for development.
E3 - Electronic Entertainment Expo

The panel was hosted by Chris Hardwick and included:

Kickstarter Funding Goal
One of the frequently asked questions has been in regards to the $314,159 (π) Kickstarter funding goal and how those funds will be allocated. Space Odyssey has outside funding sources that have been used to support the early stages of game concept and funds that have been earmarked towards the games final games development.
The funds from this Kickstarter campaign will give us the ability to create the absolute best gaming experience possible by allocating a portion of those towards conceptualizing and implementing the ideas that will stem from this campaign.
The funding via our Kickstarter campaign will likely not cover the financial requirements to develop Space Odyssey. The team behind Space Odyssey initiated the conceptualization process of the game through self-funding, then sought outside funding that's earmarked towards development. The funds received via your support on Kickstarter will grant us the ability to have this community play the game and engage with it while the final build is underway.
As the Kickstarter gaming community begins to beta test game-play and provide feedback, we can begin to use the funds raised via Kickstarter to incorporate your modding, mapping and building suggestions, together building the awesome gaming experience you helped to create.
We're planning on doing a live-stream using Kickstarter Live early next week and we'll let you know the date very soon.
For those who may not be familiar, Kickstarter Live is made to bring communities closer together and allows you to ask questions in advance, chat in within the live-streaming broadcast and more.
