Executive Produced by ALEXANDER PAYNE
RUN FAST tells the story of Vivian, a Kenyan runner who travels to Los Angeles to compete in her first professional marathon. Her sponsor, Peter, himself an aging former runner, watches his long-shot protege demonstrate tremendous potential in her first race. As he prepares to take their partnership to the next level, Vivian confronts him with the realities awaiting her back in Kenya. Kindred spirits hailing from very different worlds, these two must coexist to harness her potential or risk losing everything.

Vivian represents many of the unseen obstacles that women across the world face every single day. Women who match challenges at every turn with grace, wit and strength. By backing me, you are helping to create a film designed to inspire audiences around the world. I love cinema's ability to raise awareness while telling an entertaining story; RUN FAST is a film aiming to do both.

We’ve hit our initial goal and I am beyond grateful!
As they say about running the marathon, you don’t start racing until you hit the 16th mile. That’s us, now, and so we truly need your help more than ever.
Hitting our initial goal in a breathtaking 4 days is just the start. Keep running with us because we now have the potential to go all the way.
Backing us at this point means things like permitting amazing locations like the LA Marathon and the LAX airport, allowing us expand the cinematic scope of the film, and even feeding our hard working crew hot meals. It’s truly all the difference in the world as we set our sights higher.
To everyone backing RUN FAST and helping to spread our message, you’ve done my heart good and I am nearly speechless --- yes, for those of you who know me, you know that’s almost impossible!
This amazing accomplishment is just the beginning for our film. We believe we have the potential to share a story worth telling and we want to honor everyone’s contribution by doing it in the absolute strongest way possible.
We can’t stop. Backing us now means you help us RUN FAST across that finish line. Like setting out for a long run, sometimes your dreams need to push you farther than you ever thought possible. Can we get to $20,000? With your help, anything is possible.
Thank you for believing in our film and our team.
W H Y S H O U L D I B A C K R U N F A S T?
I'm a filmmaker a with a vision, but I can’t make this film without your help. I’ve worked diligently on the script for over a year with Alexander Payne's guidance and assembled the best crew out there. I am experienced at shooting a film with absolute economy, but in order to make RUN FAST truly extraordinary, I need the support of the people who believe in me. And I think we have some pretty special rewards to thank you for your commitment.
To honor your contribution I vow to eat, sleep and breathe RUN FAST until we have a film we are all extremely proud to have created.

Anna enjoys a long time collaboration with a great Hollywood storyboard artist, Daniel Hartney. Together, their pre-visualization helps demonstrate the look and tone of the film and ensures that our entire creative team is most efficiently working towards a unified vision. Below are just a few examples of Daniel's work.

Risks and challenges
TURNING DIFFICULTY INTO OPPORTUNITY
Making a short film about a Kenyan runner on a very small budget and aspiring to shoot at the Los Angeles Marathon is the epitome of a challenge.
We’re embracing these hurdles because we believe Vivian's story is worth telling and can inspire and move audiences all around our world.
Our limited budget means all of the great film artists working on RUN FAST are doing so for little or no pay. They believe in the film and in ensuring that every dollar we raise ends up on the screen.
Our intent is to finish the film in the Fall of 2014 in order to play film festivals in 2015, with the goal of premiering at Sundance. We want RUN FAST to play in the greatest festivals and venues all over the world and will work tirelessly to accomplish that goal. RUN FAST is also a story we hope to expand into a feature film and your support helps us move a step closer to that goal, too.
All rewards will be sent out as soon as possible. We hope to ship prior to the January 2015 date specified here, but we know the best way to honor your contribution is by making the best film possible, so that will be our focus in March 2014.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY DIGITAL DOWNLOAD?
One of the rules many festivals and awards platforms require is the film to not be available online before they screen it. We want to honor everyone’s contribution by being sure the film is eligible for any and all awards and opportunities. As soon as we can, we promise we'll get you a copy of RUN FAST as a small token of our gratitude for your help in getting this film made.
The film business can be an unpredictable place. If something arises that compromises our proposed plan in relation to your support/reward we definitely promise to work in good faith to come up with a suitable substitution that makes everyone happy.
