HOW IT STARTED
We, bitplay, are makers and we enjoy capturing those precious moments in life on camera while being on the go.
In recent years, iPhones have become our go-to camera because they are always with us. However, as powerful as they are, using the touch screen or volume button to snap a shot still doesn't feel as natural as using a physical digital camera.
Also, iPhone is also very limited when it comes to the possibilities of adding lenses and mounting on a tripod. In order to solve the problems that we’ve encountered with mobile photography, we did our homework and successfully launched SNAP! 6 last year on Kickstarter. Thanks to you, our idea has been brought to life!
It is in our heart to create something we would love to use everyday and make the photo-taking experience of an iPhone an enjoyable and fun one. We strive to be the maker of mobile photography and since then, we have been working diligently to refine SNAP with all the constructive feedback that we have received, and this year, we are back with our best one yet, the SNAP! PRO.
WHAT MAKES SNAP! PRO SPECIAL
Re-designed Physical Shutter Button
The Most Natural Way To Take A Photo: Remember how you always feel when trying to take a shot in the landscape mode? It’s hard to keep it steady without covering the lens even when you are using both hands. SNAP! PRO’s shutter button helps you solve that problem and it is the fastest way to snap a shot intuitively. We also took in heart of everyone’s feedback on SNAP!6, this time, we re-designed the mechanical parts, now SNAP! PRO comes with a much more responsive and lighter shutter. Pressing the shutter button is as easy and intuitive as doing it with a traditional camera.
Compatible With The Native iPhone Camera App, and more: SNAP! PRO works directly with the native iPhone Camera App, no cables, no pairing, no batteries or additional apps are needed. Turn on your iPhone and slide up the camera shortcut on the screen and you are good to shoot. No more awkward posture and no bluetooth-pairing. Snapping a shot is that easy.
What makes it even better is, a lot of the camera apps in the App Store support the use of the volume key as a shutter button, therefore, SNAP! PRO works perfectly with all these apps!
Interchangeable Lenses
What More Can You Do With Mobile Photography: SNAP! PRO offers a great variety of lenses for you to choose from for all conditions. If you wish to do a landscape or group shot, try the wide-angle or ultra-wide angle lens. We also have macro lens for shooting small objects in close-ups. Or, if you are eager to try something more professional, use the CPL lens or 3X Telephoto lenses. Whatever the occasion, we’ve got you covered.

Better Protection
Comparing with SNAP! 6, we reinforced the original hard case with dual-material protection for the inner casing to absorb shock, withstand drop and help protect your iPhone.
Interchangeable grip
To better replicate that feeling when holding a digital camera, we need a thicker grip for taking photos with our iPhones. However, we would also love to have a case that can easily fit into our pockets for everyday use and this is a dilemma that all camera case makers have faced. Fortunately, after lots of trials and errors, we came up with a solution once and for all. We made the grip interchangeable and created two types of thickness for the grip based on ergonomics. Choose the grip that you feel most comfortable under the circumstances and feel the iPhone in your hand just like how you would use a real camera with a single hand.
Tripod-Compatible
We’ve added a tripod hole to SNAP! PRO so now you can do more with your iPhone. With this additional feature, you can set up the tripod and use your iPhone to take group shots, time-lapse, night views and landscape. Now, there are more possibilities as to what we can do with mobile photography.
Steadiness-Enhanced Thumb Rest
The newly-added thumb rest helps make the grip even more solid, secure and comfortable and therefore greatly enhances your photo-taking experience.
Functional Strap Hole
Attaching a wrist strap for your own liking and never drop your beloved iPhone ever again when taking pictures.
Style
SNAP! PRO provides not only functional features but also additional protection to your iPhone. Not to mention the fact that it can also look and work like a digital camera. SNAP! PRO embodies our usual aestheticism and It is sleek as it is functional.
Furthermore, as a tribute to classic cameras, we also added two wooden grips into the mix. They are made by walnut and maple which add the premium camera feel to the SNAP! PRO.
Its fashionable design totally matches the simplicity and modern aesthetics of iPhone.

Risks and challenges
Can the rewards be delivered on time?
If the funding goal is successfully reached, we will start preparing for mass production. For the past couple of months, we have been doing a lot of testing on the mechanism of the SNAP! PRO’s prototype and therefore significantly lowered the risks of tooling. The only things that might cause the delay of the delivery schedule are the quality control process and the modification time if there’s any sudden dimension change to the next generation iPhone.
