Fuzzbuquet is an all ages fantasy story about a monster with a very large heart and a very small brain. Fuzzbuquet, a kind hearted beast with big dreams, wishes to escape his family's tradition of becoming a hero's sidekick and fulfill his dream of becoming a cheese-maker. Unfortunately, Fuzzbuquet is a terrible cheese maker and his homemade cheese tends to induce nausea and diarrhea. When his cheese making business finally fails he unwisely decides to make ends meet by accepting the unlikely task of slaying a dragon. Lacking proper weapons and armor, he fashions a helmet out of a bucket and wields a sword made of his sharpest cheddar. With this, Fuzzbuqeut embarks on an epically disastrous adventure. This Kickstarter will help fund the printing of the first issue of this series. To read a sample please visit www.fuzzbuquet.com.
The story of Fuzzbuquet draws its inspiration from 80's/90's Saturday morning cartoons, Arthurian legends and Mad Magazine. Packed with slapstick gags and potty humor, Fuzzbuquet is reminiscent of the gross pop culture of the 80's and 90's like Garbage Pail Kids and Ren and Stimpy as well as the over-the-top heroics of He-Man and the Thundercats.
The art of the of the comic is done using traditional materials such as pencil, ink, water color, markers and airbrush. In creating Fuzzbuquet, I wanted to try and evoke some of the techniques I saw in cartoons and comics when I was growing up. Ultimately I think it gives the comic a unique look and feel that is very different from most digitally colored works. This is the first issue of the ongoing Fuzzbuquet story. With your help, I hope to continue publishing the adventures of Fuzzbuquet semi-annually as Fuzzbuquet continues his ill fated quest.
Risks and challenges
At the time of this writing, Fuzzbuquet #1 has 21 pages of artwork completed with only three more pages of artwork needed to complete it. I hope to have the book in your hands by September 1st or earlier. Because the book is so close to being finished I see very little chance of any production issues arising. It is possible that the printer may take longer than estimated but I have built in plenty of buffer time so that you will still get your comics/rewards on time or earlier. Having self published two other comics before this one gives me the necessary experience to be successful in all facets of fulfillment. Pledge with confidence! Fuzzbuquet will be offering you stool softening cheese in no time!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
