So much gratitude
The last month has brought a lot of work and a lot of lessons, but it finally feels like Alberta Watches is a real thing. Almost everyone has gotten their watches!
Even Doug in Sydney, Australia:
I want to thank you all for your patience. If you haven't received your watch by next week, please let me know!
I also want to thank you for the awesome comments. It seems most everyone is really pleased with the watch, and that is amazing! You believed in me and in the project and for that, I'm humbled.
The other thank you's
This is becoming a broken record, but I also really need to thank my parents, aka. employees #1 and #2, aka. Shipping and Receiving (I actually call them that now). Without them the watches would never get shipped. When I say "we", that's who I'm talking about - it's a real family affair :)
And to my friends who helped with the video, the advice, and for spreading the word, thank you, and I'll resurface soon!
We have had a very small amount of watches ship out with problems - things like straps put on backwards (oops! That's on us..). There have also been three watches with quality control issues. Out of 750, that's actually pretty good, but I just want to remind everyone that if you have any problems AT ALL, please let me know, and we will take care of it.
The other issue has been that the Saddlemaker is too short for a few of you. I'm working on a new, longer one. I purposefully made the strap a bit shorter to account for leather stretch, so it might help to give it time to break in. But it's clear that it is still too short for some, so I am working out a solution. I have to ask for your patience again on this one, as it requires new tooling and will take a while. I will continue to update on that.
Future of Alberta Watches
The remaining 100 watches after the Kickstarter orders have already SOLD OUT! That's really incredible, and way faster than I expected. That means that Alberta Watches is now at a crossroads. I am deciding whether to order more watches, to create a new model, and how in general to grow the brand. If you have thoughts or comments, I'd love to hear them.
For now though, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart, and we did it!
