Grey, shipping induced heart attacks, and still (probably) on track
Before I even get started here, I just want to thank you all for your amazing support. I absolutely love every comment, question, and phone call I get about the watches. It's really cool. It still totally blows my mind that so many of you care and are behind the project.
I have received lots of address changes. That's great, thanks for taking care of that. If you still need to change your address, please do so before Sunday!
You can review your survey response by visiting the project page and clicking the 'Your response' text in the bottom of the reward tier you selected. You’ll notice an option at the top of the popup that will allow you to change your shipping information.
OK, on to the fun stuff. Things have been going pretty much according to the new plan. Quality control went well. Eugene's experience shined through, and he found very tiny details to be fixed (like a small amount of glue on the second hand of six watches). Everything he pointed out was fixed, and the watches should be coming in perfect shape. This also means we have the first real picture of the grey watch! I'm really pleased with what I see:
Shipping to Calgary
Shipping to Calgary has been a little bit more complicated than expected. First, I got a shipping quote of $7500! After recovering from the minor heart attack that gave me, we figured out that we were basing the quote off of box dimensions in inches instead of centimeters. PHEW!
Then after learning a lot about shipping insurance, the watches are now en route.
Fingers crossed that customs goes smoothly! We're using a very reputable shipping coordinator so it should be smooth sailing.
We are a day behind the new schedule I laid out, but I'm not too worried about that, it was always meant to be a bit flexible. Hopefully the watches come quickly and that makes up the lost day.
We should be shipping out the watches in the second week of November.
Thanks for tuning in, I'll keep you informed as things develop further!
