Sometimes, life is a drag. And when the drag drags, the dragged get dragging. They drag themselves out past the city limits, out past the last streetlight, out, back to a place where they can be with the land, and away from suits and skyscrapers and sidewalk candy-bar-wrappers, away from the SEC and the FDA and the NRA and the DOJ. They drag themselves up and down in kimonos and mini-skirts and saris and pink chemises, and lumberjack boots in the wide open breezes, in furs and fancy and fireside glee, and they glow and they grow and they hurt and they heart and they burn a bit brighter than they did at the start.
What: VISION WALK is a fine art zine in the making, the physical artifact of a voyage of creative discovery and exploration, renaissance, and regeneration. With your support, it will be full of images and stories to inspire, amaze, and delight.
Who: Max Fowler Cohen makes collages and other artworks from the visual and symbological detritus of contemporary society.
When: Max will be exploring the vast hidden places of New Mexico, making art, magic, laughter, and light, from April 24th through May 7th. This Kickstarter project is intended to fund production of the accompanying zine, and runs through May 12th. The elements of the zine will be produced stream-of-consciousness style over the course of the voyage of the vision walk, and collated and sent out for printing in May, in Washington DC.
Where: Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and El Morro, New Mexico. And wherever else, nearby, the muses beckon.
