Frenchy and the Punk's story:
Frenchy met the Punk in New York City in 1998 when both were working temp jobs to survive while they fed their art and music pursuits. She, a French-born Brit, a former dancer and disillusioned MBA graduate, was collaborating with an underground art community and he, an ex-punk bassist who cut his teeth in the western mass hardcore punk scene, was fueling his new path as an acoustic solo musician. A passionate, clandestine office romance ensued and the two quickly found a creative alliance. They ditched their apartments and moved into a dilapidated 15ft x 17ft one room rehearsal studio in the famed ‘music building’ near Times Square with the sounds of Port Authority just outside their window. Living hard, showering at community centers and saving their pennies they eventually left it all behind to start their journey on the road.
They began touring together in 2000. Scott as the performing solo musician and Samantha as the artist exhibiting her wares until one autumn night in 2005 Samantha jumped onstage with Helland, albeit after some red wine, and began her re-emergence into the performing world.
The unlikely pairing has since performed close to a thousand shows together across the U.S. and in Europe, released 5 CDs as Frenchy and the Punk, produced a live concert DVD, 3 CDs as The Gypsy Nomads as well as Scott’s 6 solo CDs. In compliment to the music, Scott released a 36-page art book of his pen and ink drawings, Samantha has designed and sewn over 500 finger puppet bats and the pair have had music in a dozen TV shows... and now, this 50-page lyric and photo book. This, all without agents, managers or record labels - just the two of them and the power of you, the fans.
This book celebrates their journey...
The Frenchy and the Punk show is a carnival of two that will take you from Paris to CBGBs and back again. A rollicking acoustic folk punk cabaret with Taiko meets Rio de Janeiro pounding drum instrumentals and true DIY spirit.
We can't wait for you to see this book!

Risks and challenges
The book is very close to being designed so there aren't any challenges in that department. The only problem is if the project doesn't meet the goal, it will never happen and we'll be infinitely sad and so will the people who want this book.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
