A bit about me
I am an avid tabletop wargamer and an avid boardgamer. I particularly like boardgames with beautiful, detailed plastic miniatures! I am a huge fan of the Commands and Colours series of games by the much acclaimed author, Richard Borg - especially Ancients and Memoir '44, both in the boardgame version and the larger tabletop format. I love the elegant, fun, exciting, fast play nature of these games that give the gamer the feel of combat in that period, whether it be storming the Normandy beaches in 1944 or grimly defending the legion's eagle against hordes of ferocious, hairy barbarians. Two to three games can be comfortably played to exciting conclusions in an evening.

Introduction by Richard Borg
The Commands & Colors WWI THE GREAT WAR game rules allow players to portray important engagements throughout WWI history. The battles, included in the scenario booklet, focus on the historical deployment of forces and important terrain features of trench fighting in scale with the game system. The scale of the game is flexible and varies from battle to battle. For some scenarios, a few infantry units may represent an entire wing of a larger battle, while in other scenarios a unit may represent just a few brave soldiers going over the top.
The Command card system drives movement, creates a “fog of war”, and presents players with many interesting opportunities, while the battle dice resolve combat quickly and efficiently. The Combat cards add an element of suspense and will challenge players to coordinate their use in a timely manner. Overall, the battlefield tactics players will need to execute to gain victory conform remarkably well to the strengths and limitations of the various types of WWI units, their weapons, battlefield terrain, and written history.
In this core game, the main focus is on a number of WWI trench warfare battles. However, a series of expansions, which will feature early war, Eastern Front scenarios, tanks, airplanes, other national armies, plus more special personnel figures, are already in the planning stage to enhance your WWI gaming experience.
Welcome and Enjoy!

Richard Borg bio
Although best known for being the designer of the Command and Colours game system, Richard Borg is held in the highest esteem of the board game community for his catalogue of excellent games. His first game, “Liars Dice”, was published by Milton Bradley, as long ago as 1987 and in 1993 he won the Spiel des Jahres for "Bluff". He continued designing games throughout the 90’s and in 2000 he introduced Commands and Colours and has created five successful titles which use this elegantly simple system.

Our sincere gratitude
We are well advanced with the production of the game - the plastic miniatures are with the toolmakers and the rules and scenarios are all written, playtested and well into the graphic design stage. We will be producing the game with a well regarded European factory and are on course to release the game summer 2015. Many thanks for your help and support in making this exciting project a reality and we promise to keep you updated regularly with progress reports.
Risks and challenges
While The Great War is the first boardgame from PSC Games, the project is combining several well proven components. The game rules and scenarios are the work of the proven designer Richard Borg. The game will be printed at specialist games printers in Germany, which will ensure quality production. The miniatures are being produced by the Plastic Soldier Company, which is the most experienced manufacturer of 15mm scale, hard plastic miniatures, in the world. As a result we are confident that we can hit our timescales.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
