One of the things I personally took away from the Ogre Kickstarter project is that you MUST be involved at all times. Post many updates. Communicate with backers -- and potential backers all over the net -- and don't ever stop sharing new information on the project. Car Wars will take a lot of the lessons learned during the Ogre project and make for a stronger project.

      Bring it back soon!

I do hope this one comes back. I thought the game looked interesting as hell when I stumbled upon it. Hope you can generate enough buzz for a second bite at the apple...

      Hi guys,

First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you who supported us on this project, either by directly pledging, or simply by spreading the word. I cannot tell you how much we appreciate that support.

However, we have to acknowledge that it is really unlikely to pass the finish line in time.

That is a shame, as this is a project we believe in a great deal.

We (I) also have to acknowledge that we made some mistakes here and there, especially when setting this project up on Kickstarter. We should have more of the artwork on display from the get go, the rulebook should have been up a lot longer and that video we spent so long on... would have been better actually demonstrating the game, as so many of you pointed out to us. Overall, it was perhaps a little too ambitious for our first Kickstarter project.

However, we also do not give up easily and, as I said, we believe in this game a great deal. So, we will go away and give a lot more thought to our presentation, perhaps run demos of this game at various conventions in the UK and US... and then come back, and try again.

In the meantime, we do have another Kickstarter project waiting in the wings, and we will be using the lessons learned with Dark Eon Assassin. It is not as 'deep' as this game in terms of background or gameplay, but it is a lot cheaper and it is a lot of fun - please keep an eye out for Meerkat Slammers over the next couple of weeks or so.

Once again, I would like to thank all of you for sticking with Dark Eon Assassin and supporting us in this endeavour. We hope to justify your confidence and get a copy of this game in your hands in the not too distant future.

      Thank you, one and all.

      Matthew Sprange

I posted during the Ogre rush and on a number of Traveller site....unfortunately, not too much traction. Too bad, because it looks great. Perhaps they'll try again with more involvement... (updates, cross-promotion, stretch goals, video, etc..)

I understand. It's the polar opposite of the Zombicide! and Ogre campaigns.
Shame, really. It looks like a really cool game.

Sorry Lawrennce as I for one will not bother posting anymore regarding this game, especially since the designer does not participate in anything now. You are to be commended for trying as you are actually doing more than the creator of the game. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I know longer give a damn about this title. In fact, I'm just too heady with happiness right now that one of my favorites The Relquary Collection made their funding goal. There is a group of designers who provided alot of feedback and one is genuinley glad for them. This one hopefully will return with a better presentation and have the success it should have, but it will not be now.

I posted this on BGG. Hope it helps. Go check it out and comment; it will help generate buzz.

    11. schi on May 23, 2012

Yes, it's on BGG, but Mongoose did not even care to put a couple of pictures there.
It's a pity, because there's a huge demand on solo games now (check SMERSH, Mice and Mystics etc.)

It's not on BGG? Odd. Let's see what's up.

    13. schi on May 23, 2012

It looks like the publisher is not really interested in the success of this project on Kickstarter. I have no other explanation for lack of any promotion on BGG, scarce updates etc. My guess is they are going to publish it anyway, KS or not.
Don't get me wrong, the game itself looks super interesting.

We're going to have to help this baby along, folks. Start letting your friends know, and post where appropriate!

Hope this project does make it as the only non video solo game I own at the moment is solitaire! This looks cool and interesting so I guess it's just down to awareness and page views now. Good luck and fingers crossed.

I've been forced to maintain my pledge for this project because not only does it look awesome with beautiful artwork and an intriguing solo concept, but I also can't stand sanctimonious whiners.

I've been forced to maintain my pledge for your project because it looks awesome. Beautiful artwork, and the solo game genre is always interesting. I hope more folks get a look at this in the last week.

I have been forced to withdraw my pledges from your project due to the way Kickstarter handled the suspension and cancellation of Board & Card Games project Tentacle Bento. Kickstarter acted on pressure generated from two misinformed articles that misrepresented the project and were done in hopes to raise page hits and enough negative feedback for the project to be cancelled. I do not feel developer Soda Pop Miniatures and their project were treated fairly. As I do not condone censorship and the way Kickstarter handled the situation by taking a stand as some kind of moral enforcer of what is parody/satire/acceptable (without consulting the project founders or backers), I am forced to back out of any ongoing and future projects hosted at Kickstarter.
