About this project
Romance, humour, passion, gloriously awkward moments, emotional conflict and carrot cake abound in this very British observation of unexpected attraction.

NEW STRETCH GOAL #2!
You have already pushed us past our original target AND our first stretch target! YOU ARE AWESOME!
It would be amazing to be able to raise even more to put towards production! We want this film to be as high-calibre as is physically possible, so we're launching a SECOND STRETCH GOAL.
Can you help us get to £2,500?
With YOUR SUPPORT we think we can do this!
James and Sophie are the proverbial chalk and cheese.
Sophie is a sensible, forty-something divorcee with her head buried in classical literature and her heart safely tucked out of harm's reach.
James is an irresponsible twenty-something charmer, with no intention of letting anyone rule his heart and every intention of living life to the full.
Fate has decided to bring them together. Whether they like it or not.
In one chance meeting their paths cross and they suddenly find themselves trying to make sense of the unexpected feelings that begin to surface.
Seductive Jazz clubs, the romance of London at night and terrible advice from self-proclaimed love guru Barbara, all conspire to lead their hearts down a path that neither of them want to follow.
Will they surrender?
What are you raising funds for?
We crowdfunded the money to shoot our 100% backer-funded teasers, shown on this page. These teasers show the quality of the film that we're making. We have additional funds set aside and we now need to raise just another £1K to be able shoot the full 20mins film.
What sort of team have you got behind this?
In short (pun fully intended) an absolutely excellent one. Director Darren S Cook is a Coup de Coeur CANNES award-winner and our Director of Photography Huw Walters has two BAFTA Cymrus to his name. Our composer William Goodchild was a key contributor to the BBC's Wild China: Heart of the Dragon, which won an EMMY for Music and Sound.
Our cast have worked with directors such as Richard Ayoade, Sean Durkin and Jamie Thraves and have credits which include the BBC, ITV and CHANNEL 4.
Our writers and lead actors are Vanessa Bailey and Richard Perryman. During their first meeting to discuss the concept fo the film they realised they instinctively had an identical vision for it. Using their skills not just as writers but also as actors they have developed the script and the characters together. With their 21 year age-gap they bring an authenticity and truthfulness to this modern love story.
So - meet the team...

What are our plans for the film?
We believe this film is going to be special.
So we want it seen by as many people as possible. We'll be submitting to UK and international film festivals. After that we'll make it available online.
Why would you want to back us?
Make no mistake - we ARE making this film.
If you're looking to become part of a film project driven by a near all-consuming passion for the story coupled with immense creativity and expertise well, this film would be a good option.
We've been a year in pre-production. We have A PROVEN TRACK RECORD of using backer's money efficiently and responsibly. We came to the project with ZERO BUDGET so we crowdfunded and raised just under £800, grabbed a minimal crew, bought some costume, booked some locations, ate crisps all day and shot the FOUR 100% crowdfunded teasers. To show what we can do. We made our backer's money go a long way. And then some.
We crowdfunded again and raised £1,667 and that means we've been able to pencil a shoot date for October. The crew are booked. We can budget for things like equipment hire, insurance and travel costs for our crew and cast. But it's not enough to complete the shoot - we need to raise more to cover things such as catering, accommodation, costume and a makeup artist for the five day shoot.
Raising another £1K would mean we can shoot the story that we and our 1,800 plus followers on Twitter have fallen in love with.
And of course, that way you get to find out what Sophie and James decide to do.
Head or heart? YOU can help get the story to the screen...
THANKYOU SO MUCH from the bottom of our really rather sentimental hearts.
Risks and challenges
So - what problems might we run up against?
Filming in the UK? That would be the weather!
But - on a serious note - realistically there are very few films that don't hit some sort of logistical issues at some point in the production process. The joy of having such an experienced team behind the project is that between us we've probably already experienced most of the potential set-backs on previous projects! When a glitch in the process arises there's no substitute for experience.
As a team we're committed to making a beautiful film with the highest possible production values and fulfill that for our backers in as quick a timeframe as we can without sacrificing the end result. We want to see this film made and going out to film festivals as soon as possible.
THANKYOU for taking the time to read about our film. We'd love you to join us for this very exciting journey....Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
