Why our product is unique:
Kids love discovery. They are naturally inquisitive about new experiences and find it exciting to see things they have never seen before. And, with regard to seeing, kids are more easily engaged when learning visually than when asked to memorize vocabulary from a list on a chalkboard.
But vocabulary is absolutely vital to the future success of kids, so how do we help them explore the world while also expanding their vocabulary?
The answer: Bright World eBooks.
With Bright World eBooks, we give children the ability to immerse themselves in 3D environments that are every bit as engaging and entertaining as movies or video games.
Take a look at the demonstration of our product below. The title is “Ocean Forests.” It’s a prototype of the first mobile app in what will be a series of reading experiences addressing natural science topics.

What the funds will be used for:
With stretch goals (additional funding), we can go much further with additional features and functionality that could include other languages and platforms.
Here’s what triggered the idea for Bright World eBooks, as related by one of our founders, Judy Belletti:
“My kindergarteners had such a curiosity about the world that was unfolding before them. They would ask me what bees were doing when landing on flowers. Or, why the opossum that lived by the swings slept all day long. And influentially, I remember a child asking me what was inside the ocean.
Neither parents nor primary teachers have had an ample amount of resources to address these questions; informational texts for young readers have been sparse. Of equal importance, advances in technology make it so I can now immerse children in the environments about which they’re inquisitive. I can make the answers to their questions as captivating and surprising as any pastime. And this is how it should be—learning should be fun!
How we help build a child’s vocabulary:
The movement and interactivity of “Ocean Forests” will keep children intrigued and playing with the app over and over. Parents and teachers will immediately recognize there is value beyond entertainment. The word choices imbedded into “Ocean Forests” provide an opportunity to expand children’s vocabularies, and that will initiate a very positive domino effect: The more words children understand, the better they read. The better they read, the more successful they are in school. The more successful they are in school, the more ample their career options later in life. At Bright World eBooks we like to say, 'A broader vocabulary leads to a brighter future.'
We believe all adults should expect more from the apps they buy for children. Time is short; let’s make our kids’ apps fun and worthwhile. Our business, too, will do its part. We want all kids to have a bright future!”

Risks and challenges
With funding, we will be finishing up our first title and releasing, "Ocean Forests". and then, working on the next title, "A is for Amphibians". Our next steps are clear and we have the talent and expertise to complete these tasks. Our production artists are secured as they are employed by one of our founders in an animation studio, DoubleTake Media Solutions. (www.dt-ms.com)
While we cannot 100% guarantee Apple will approve the product for its App Store, we feel its high visual quality and unique educational benefits will be more than sufficient for approval. Additionally, we already have the product in the App Store for early prototype testing. That process has already gone smoothly. So, adoption into the App Store seems extremely safe.
This is also a digital release, so we have no supply or shipping concerns. Lastly, all the team members are highly focused on this product and its successful launch.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
