In this small card game, players spread rumours (using the confused memories of the Prince to their advantage) to make him come to believe that your servant, friend or relative is in actuality Cinderella. Can you persuade the Prince to marry who you desire? Of course, other informants are spreading rumours and gossip about their own candidates, so you must be prepared to assertively dismiss some of what others will tell him, without giving away your true intentions.
Many possible Cinderellas will be offered to the Prince. Who will he believe and which "Cinderella" will he decide to marry?
Please note that the game shown in these videos is the original, Japanese version.

Too Many Cinderellas is a small game that packs a punch. Included in every copy will be:
- 18 Cinderella cards (63x88mm)
- 9 Yes/No cardboard voting tokens
- 1 Rules Booklet
(And, upon reaching stretch goals - see below)
- 9 plastic diamonds- 1 drawstring bag
All in a two-piece cardboard box (11cm X 11cm X 5cm)
The rules of Too Many Cinderellas are few and straightforward. Players begin the game with four cards, one of which they hope will be married to the Prince! On their turn, players will play one card to the table, using it as a rumour to support their candidates or remove others' from the running. All players then have a chance to permit or veto this rumour. At the end of the round, players reveal any remaining candidates to the Prince for his offer of engagement.
Watch a game being played! Please note that this is a 2-player game. Paying with 3-4 players works a little differently - please read the rules above for more details.
"We love it. It's a nice light filler and it's funny when the deck at the end messes with your plans. Also, it's always fun to make a story on how the prince ended up with an old man or a cat as his Cinderella." - Zen
Thanks to your support, Too Many Cinderellas will not only be produced, but made of higher quality components as we meet the following over-funding goals. These improvements will be included in all copies of the game - now and in the future!
Once we meet our funding goal, Grail Games will have the minimum funds required to publish and ship Too Many Cinderellas!
If we receive more funding than is required for a first print run, the first improvement made will be to include 9 plastic diamonds. These are used to track wins when playing best out of three round. (Image coming soon!)
Next, the quality of the cards will be increased to be among the best in the business! The 18 cards will now be made of BlackCore card-stock (310gsm).
At this level of funding we will be able to increase the quality of the voting tokens from cardboard to wood! (30mm x 5mm) A two-colour silkscreen design will be printed onto the tokens (image coming soon).
Due to the generous pledges of our supporters, reaching this level will provide every copy of the game with a lovely, blue, faux velvet draw-string bag to keep the game components pristine and ready for any wedding. (The bag will fit within the game box.)
Thanks for your support! $10k means the game will be ready to be played, not just at a fancy wedding, but at any royal ball! At this level we can afford to have the Too Many Cinderellas' glass slipper design embroidered on every draw-string bag.
...But that is just the beginning!
Yes! Simply increase your pledge amount for each extra copy of the game you would like. The cost of extra games depends on your pledge level. DIAMOND SOLITAIRE and DANCING PARTNERS backers can add extra copies for $16 each, HAPPY COUPLE backers add extra copies for $15 each, and and ROYAL BALL backers add extra copies for $14 each.
Don't worry that the total number of games you have pledged for is not represented by your backer level - we will figure out how many copies you should receive in a post-campaign backer survey.
One Zero One is only available as an add-on at the DANCING PARTNERS pledge level. Extra copies are $18 each.
Backers at the DANCING PARTNERS pledge level to be sent a copy of our first Kickstarter success - One Zero One! Please note that One Zero One will be shipped separately to Too Many Cinderellas (in Jan/Feb 2015) so backers with this add-on will need to complete a backer survey ASAP after this campaign ends so we can get your shipping details in order.
Every copy of the game includes all stretch goals met during its Kickstarter campaign!
>> Rahdo Runs-thru One Zero One:
"This is a neat, neat game. The first time Jen and I played it we had smiles all the way through...We think it's great. Love it a lot. A lovely little filler game with a lovely theme." - Richard Ham, Rahdo Runs Through
Too Many Cinderellas has been loved by Japanese gamers for a while now, and Grail Games can't wait to supply this cute, fun experience to a larger audience. Thanks to you the backers for making this dream a reality!

Risks and challenges
Too Many Cinderellas has been available to purchase in Japan since earlier this year. It has already been enjoyed by many gamers and is finished - ready to go into production! This, plus the fact that the majority of games will be shipping to backers directly from the same neighbourhood as our manufacturer, means that shipping times should be comparatively quick.
One Zero One (Grail Games' first Kickstarter success) is due to be received EARLY by backers in January 2015. Grail is beginning to forge a track record of delivering fun games on time!
However, unforseen circumstances can hold up a project. This can happen at the point of manufacture or shipment. Grail Games has given a six-month time-frame for delivery of Too Many Cinderellas which we feel is substantial for a finished game of this size. If anything does affect the project, backers will be kept in the loop via regular backer updates at every step of the production and shipment process.
Please note: By pledging money towards this campaign, you are not pre-ordering the game, but helping us to make it a reality. Thank you for your support! Pledge levels do include all shipping costs, and backers will receive their games before retail stores, but Grail Games cannot guarantee that retailers will not sell Too Many Cinderellas at a cheaper price than Kickstarter supporters will “pay.”
Also, Grail Games will happily send replacement copies of any game damaged in shipment to backers, etc., but if backers fail to inform Grail Games of a change in shipping address or similar, backers may be asked to pay extra costs for a replacement copy of the game.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
