Buffalo Game Space is a center to support and nurture independent game development, through education, facilities, and organizational support.
If you've never made a game:
We've got you covered. Our goal is to offer workshops, bootcamps, make extensive tutorials, and offer support to help people learn the art of game development! Our workshops, bootcamps, and tutorials will be accessible to all, with both local and online options!
If you've made or are making a game:
Awesome! We've got your back!
We will offer services targeted at game makers including
- Co-Working office space.
- Access to professional equipment and tools.
- Legal and Accounting assitance
- Marketing and Publishing assistance
- Helping makers find talented people to assist them
We've negotiated deals with local professionals to help assist game makers in taking care of their game, from idea to release.
That's not all!
Our mission is to help game makers in any way we can, with a dedicated space. But beyond that, we want to support game makers in making non-traditional games that they can't make through traditional avenues, giving them the tools and resources to make their vision a reality... and for them to share that vision with you!
People who share our vision have graciously donated time, resources, and space to our cause in the past. But we've outgrown it! We need a new space, so that we can continue to be awesome!
With your help, we'll be able to move to a larger space, where we can build facilities to help assist game makers!
In the past, we've been able to:
- Host talks from industry veterans
- Organize and hold game jams!
- Provide space for people to meet, and collaborate
- Host member presentations on the art and techniques of their craft
- Assist each other with completing our game projects!
But we want to do so much more!
With your help, we can expand the help and services we offer to game makers. Allowing us more room, to have the space to build dedicated facilities for sound, motion capture, computer labs, classrooms, and co-working!
The Buffalo Game Space isn't solely a place to work either. We're game developers, we know how to have fun!
It's about community!
We frequently host events for people to come play games with us, so that they can come experience the joy of playing games in a community setting. Games are always more fun together!
Some of the events we've hosted include:
- BGS Arcade, a night once a month where we invite people over to come play games we've made, games by other indie developers, or simply their favorite co-op and retro games!
- Community events for fighting games. Fighting gamers love going face to face, and we provide a place for them to come do that!
- Viewing Events! We've frequently made room for people to watch major gaming competitions as a group at our space.

Risks and challenges
Fulfilling Rewards: We have made extensive preparations to fulfill our rewards packages, making deals with several local companies for prints, T-shirts, etc and are confident we can fulfill these in a timely manner.
For the physical table-top game rewards, we've made arrangements with the producers that in the event that there is a manufacturing problem, we will provide a digital copy of the games and rules so that you can still play!
Sustaining the Organization: We at Buffalo Game Space have a detailed business plan in place to help grow the community well providing a variety of services, including workshops, co-working space, and membership fees, to help keep us going after you've so graciously helped us get started!
What we don't know, that we don't know: For the completely unforeseeable, we have a great community of people to outreach to for help, and are confident we can, with the help of everybody, overcome any challenges that come out way!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
