Causwells is all about a friendly local place to get great food and delicious beer and wine. We have both been in this industry for a long time. Alvin has opened some of the busiest restaurants in San Francisco (Delarosa and Lolinda) while Tom has been a fixture on Chestnut street for 7 years at the California wine merchant after his time in corporate restaurants. We have hired Adam Rosenblum away from his post at Flour and Water to bring you amazing local ingredients that will change with the seasons showcasing what is fresh around the bay area. The menu will focus on sharable plates so you have the opportunity to try many flavors each time you are in. We will offer the second late night dinning option on Chestnut street. In both our beer and wine lists, we will offer small production American selection along with family owned and operated European choices.
We are located in a building that was designed and built in the 1930's and shares with the strong art deco history of our city. We have in trusted the Bon Vivants to help match the interior with the beautiful art deco facade. They have been responsible for designing Trick Dog and 15 Romello, as well as the upcoming Shakewell and Chubby Noodle spaces. We will honor the space by repurposing the old cast iron bar stool as well as keeping the Bechilli's name etched in the side walk as a memory of the spaces past. We have all of the design finalized, along with the rough construction completed. We are moving in to the finishes and getting the final details nailed down and will be ready to open in just a few weeks.
With the money we raise will be going to some of the things that we were going to put off until a few months after opening. Like getting the outside heating up and running now rather than later. We know what summer in San Francisco is like... Should we raise more then the $12,000 we are asking for, we will continue to upgrade the space with art work and hvac that were also planned for after opening and we can only do it with your help!
We want to thank you all for being so supportive so far and believing in us, showing up to all the pop up's and food truck give a ways! Maybe sneaking into a wine tasting or two. Now we can give back to you as well with some incredible rewards. The party's will be ones to remember and who doesn't want a shirt, I know we do!
See you at the space in June for the opening and thank you for supporting us by pledging for our project or simply sharing this project with your friends.

Risks and challenges
The only issue we might face it timing in regards to the permit from the city. It should be something that does not pose an issue but we can not guarantee that they will work on our timeline.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
