Max Reload and The Nether Blasters is a sci-fi adventure comedy feature film that revolves around video gaming and a retro-gaming urban legend! The film is being produced entirely in Phoenix, Arizona, by CineForge Media, a film production company that specializes in creating gaming-related content. Max Reload is an independent feature film that will look and FEEL like a Hollywood studio-quality film. Casting has begun and we have already attached Greg Grunberg, Martin Kove, and Kevin Smith!
A small town video game store clerk must go from zero to hero after accidentally unleashing the forces of evil from a cursed ColecoVision game... Max Jenkins' gaming fantasies collide with reality when a legendary "lost" installment of the Nether Game series appears on the store counter of his workplace, Fallout Games. Unbeknownst to Max, the game bears a "Curse of The Ages", and in playing it, he has just unlocked the Nether, an ancient malevolent force of evil from the cartridge, upon his small hometown. Along with a mysterious masked man and his two best friends, Liz and Reggie, Max must figure out how to beat the Nether at it's own game before it's Game Over for humanity.
CineForge Media is producing Max Reload and The Nether Blasters in association with East Coast Studios! Principal photography begins in January 2018, with an expected release later that same year. We are bringing Hollywood talent to the table, while maintaining an entirely independent spirit, and we need YOU, the Kickstarter Community, to help enhance the production to make Max Reload look, sound, and FEEL as big and radical as possible! CineForge Media has built a name on making large film on small budgets and we are taking all that we have learned and more to bring Max Reload to the big screen!
Independence. Community. Confidence. We are coming to Kickstarter to involve the community early in the film-making process. Film-making itself, is a communal art form, where the end result and what you see on screen is the direct representation of each individuals combined efforts. We are making a film that we, as filmmakers, gamers, and fans of all things retro, would want to see on the big screen. We're partnering with killer brands who are helping us make this film possible, to provide YOU with some amazing rewards from the set. Insert Coin... join the Nether Blasters, and lets beat the high score, together!
Your contribution to this effort will end up on screen and help push Max Reload to a wider audience! We NEED YOUR SUPPORT to enhance the look, sound and feel of this film. Bigger and badder visual effects! The film's score recorded by a live orchestra! Possible screenings in a city near you!
*The film itself is already funded - it's happening - but YOUR contributions are going to help make this independent film truly shine and feel like a Hollywood studio-quality production!
We have an amazing VFX team and Film Composer ready to take Max Reload to the next level! Atlas Lens Co's Anamorphic lenses will be our go-to choice for lensing this feature. To do so we will be shooting the film on the RED Scarlet-W.
We've teamed with some of the BIGGEST names in gaming to achieve this production, and we're thrilled to be offering RAD swag from the actual set to YOU - our Kickstarter supporters - as part of our rewards. Below are just some of the physical rewards - take a look at the full rewards descriptions for all of the digital rewards as well!

Risks and challenges
Luckily we have taken most of the risk out of this project by securing funding to make the movie!
Why are we qualified to make this film? We have over 20 years experience in the industry from studios to indie films. Our partnerships and amazing cast and crew are all veterans in the industry ready to knock this film out of the park.
Our goal is to release the film theatrically, and this is a process that takes time. Negotiating, exploring all possible paths for distribution and promoting the film is an undertaking we have yet to embark on at this point in the process. The challenge for our backers will ultimately be patience with the process - but we intend to mitigate this challenge and expectation by producing a number of regular updates and videos documenting the film making journey all throughout the process!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
