STRAWS Film Festival Premieres!
We're excited to announce STRAWS will be having it's North American Film Premiere at the Sonoma International Film Festival this March 29-April 2! And ILLUMINATE Film Festival will be screening STRAWS at its May festival in Sedona, AZ. I'm grateful all the hard work and talents of the STRAWS crew is paying off as feedback is coming in from festivals and plastic pollution organizations who have previewed it: "your film is informative, captivating and encourages a call to action, "the programming team absolutely loves this inspiring and awakening short. " loved it! Very well done."
On March 9th I'll be having a preview screening event in my community at the Fearrington Village Barn in Pittsboro, NC. "The Barn" is a special venue with many memories of events I've been involved in over the last two decades from charity fundraisers to a multiyear NC Film Series program. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Clean Jordan Lake a non-profit that provides clean-ups and education about trash. Since 2008, their volunteers have removed 120 tons of litter from the lake's shoreline. Other proceeds will go toward the STRAWSfilm outreach and education campaign to help with post-production costs, distribution, subtitle expenses, promotion and education materials and filmmaker travel. More about the event and tickets available on eventbrite.com
On this Valentine's Eve as I write this, I believe more than ever that in the words of Hal David "What the world needs now, is love, sweet love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of." So I send love to you and heartfelt thanks for supporting this film. I couldn't have made it without your generosity.
Love each other, love yourself, love the Earth (but please don't love single-use plastic!)
