Funding goal reached!!! You made it happen!
My heart is full this morning with a combination of gratitude, joy and being humbled by the generosity of so many who gave their support to the STRAWS documentary film project campaign. I am very touched by the rallying of contributors yesterday to get us to the goal. My deepest appreciation to each and everyone of you who kicked in a little or a lot. You ALL made it possible to reach the funding goal and raise over $25,000!!!
Right now I'm counting my blessings for so many things. It's an honor to have your faith in me to make this film and get it out to the world. Your support is a reminder that there are many who care about the health of our environment and oceans and the creatures we share it with. Plastic straws aren't good for people either, but we'll get to that in the film!
I'm also sending thoughts and healing wishes to the Machum family in Costa Rica who were so gracious and helpful to our crew. Since starting his "NoStrawChallenge - Sinpajillaporfavor" effort a few months ago, 11-yr old Max Machum has convinced nearly 40 restaurants & vendors to stop serving straws on request. His father has fallen ill recently and we are hoping that all will be well soon.
Please stay in touch, keep sharing the project and I'll be posting updates on our progress too!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
