Could STRAWS be the next BAG thing? A wave of change around the globe and why this film is needed.
Happy Independence Day! To those who have made a donation to STRAWS your donation is appreciated so much! I hope you & yours enjoy a fun & safe holiday.
Speaking of safety... did you know that every year thousands of injuries occur due to drinking straws? Jackie Nunez of The Last Plastic Straw (featured in STRAWS) notes that 2003 was a partically bad year: http://www.hospital-data.com/accidents/443-drinking-straws/index.html
This is a timely issue. I'm hearing from people in Mexico, St. Kitts, South Africa, Hong Kong, Portugal and around the world starting campaigns to reduce plastic straw use. But we're running out of time to raise the funds for the making of STRAWS. $20,000 is still needed by July 20 to meet the kickstarter fundraising goal. Please share this update and our kickstarter fundraiser page with friends and family!
Contributions give me encouragement that the world will hear the stories of Jackie Nunez (see video below) and youth like Max Machum who we filmed in Playa Grande who's talking to restaurant and bar owners about his #SinPajilloPorFavor challenge to rid Costa Rica's streets and beaches of plastic straws.
THANK YOU so much for your support and Please keep sharing our kickstarter fundraising campaign. With your help we can make this movie for a sea of change, one straw at a time!
