You've heard many people say, "Never discuss religion and politics." Well, this book breaks all of those rules. And occasionally does so in shocking and frequently controversial ways. From discussing topics that have been debated for decades like abortion, race, the death penalty, and gun control to new topics like the Tea Party & Occupy Movements, the European Debt Crisis, and the 24 Hour News Networks, this book covers a very wide range of issues. The book doesn't just address political issues, though, and also addresses many of the cultural issues facing America as well as some recent cultural icons. There is literally something in this book that would interest everybody, and the topics can be found in the FAQ below.
As the video mentions, this book is not even close to entirely liberal or entirely conservative. There are chapters that are pretty conservative and chapters that are pretty liberal. And a lot of chapters that contain ideas from both sides of the aisle. This is exactly the kind of book that would get talked about on many of the political shows on Fox News and MSNBC. My plan is to publish the book before April of 2013. Most (but not all) of the stances in this book have been covered by somebody, but what makes this book so unique is that it is truly a one of a kind collection of ideas. Liberals, conservatives, and libertarians will all read parts of the book with complete agreement and read other parts with disdain or even disgust. Of course I am biased, but I read a lot and many people will find this book interesting and informative.
I’m raising funds first for the publishing of my book. The first $700 is the cost of publishing of the book. It also includes the design of a cover for the book as well as to format it. There’s another $300 for the promotion of the book.
Risks and challenges
The book is already complete. The cover artist has already been chosen based on a sample of his previous work drawing political cartoons. The cover design has been chosen. The company I will initially self-publish with has already been selected. The biggest challenge is going to be marketing the book after it's been published. That's what $300 of the money I raise is going to be for. I need to carefully consider who to send copies of the book to (radio hosts, TV personalities, etc.) as well as design a low cost social media strategy. I have an MBA and so I will work with former classmates to come up with ideas on how to market the book effectively and efficiently.
