Labor of Love is the follow-up to Scarlett Cherry's very successful debut EP, Love You Like. This album focuses on the concept of “Motherhood” and will be written and recorded all during the term of Scarlett’s first time pregnancy. This is a very special moment in time to document, as it will never exist again.
She has come together with her husband, celebrity photographer and co-creator of The Zodiac Show, Lee Cherry, and Guy Baruch, CEO of Media Temple Productions and co-founder of Open Artist Movement, to executive produce. The songs have been written and recorded. Now it's time to mix, master, and promote the album! Her Due Date is January 30th 2011. We plan on releasing a single as early as Valentine's Day 2011 and plan on releasing this full album in time for Mother's Day 2011.
This unique concept, combined with Scarlett’s unmistakable world-class vocals, have attracted some of the most talented songwriters and musicians in Los Angeles. Scarlett has co-written these songs with the amazing Alisan Porter (The Canyons, The Zodiac Show), Ely Rise (Macy Gray) Ty Taylor (Rock Star INXS, Vintage Trouble, The Zodiac Show) and Davy Nathan (Tony Braxton, Jason Derulo, Christina Aguilera). The songs are hooky, and the lyrical content will raise the vibration of any room they’re played in.
"The energy during this creative process has been indescribable and the songs are absolutely magical," says Lee Cherry. "The songs will inspire mothers, but will also inspire anyone thinking of becoming a parent in today's fast-paced world."
This album is also a love letter to children. As they grow and begin to understand the lyrics to these very special songs, they will feel the love their parents have for them all while maintaining a "radio friendly" sound.
The music will have a familiar, crossover pop style, touching upon styles from acoustic soul, to blues/r&b and can be listened to with a baby/child of any age. This record will have a highly melodic, live music feel based in piano and guitar. This album will have top notch musicians playing on the record, and will surely stand the test of time.
We are independently producing this amazing record and need a proper budget to do so. We have have been so overwhelmed with the response from all of you! Although we have reached our $6,500 Kickstarter minimum, which has kept us n schedule, we still need to raise at least $20,000 to keep this project out of debt and to begin the process of properly marketing this amazing record to a wide, international audience. The songs on this record are amazing and we know that this album will not only provide joy for music lovers, but will provide support for Mothers and soon-to-be Mothers everywhere.
Thank you in advance for your support!
