Itty Bitty Pitty In The Great Big City is a project created to raise awareness of the wonderful work animal rescues do and how incredible pit bulls are! Primarily, we want children to start to learn both of these things at an early age and what better way than a children's book that also has a lesson for children about how it's great to be different. Needless to say this is a HUGE undertaking so after going through the writing and editing process a million times, I have passed the work off to Shannon Sterner, our amazing illustrator. This will then go to graphic designer Kristen Good to do the layout. In addition to the costs associated with these steps, I have also created a very specific budget for publishing, manufacturing and marketing. In true punk roots fashion, we are going to DIY all of this, so we can make sure the final project is PERFECT FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN. We have already planned out specific sizing and materials to make this an extremely unique, top-quality final product that you will be able to share for years and years to come. If we find an awesome publisher that would be great, but for the time being we're planning and budgeting to create this and market it from scratch. The Kickstarter amount goal reflects how much we will be putting into this and the more we raise, the more we can spread the word!
Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges associated with this project are also the things that make it great. We are going to be doing everything from scratch and while I do not have expertise in this aspect, I have brought on graphic designer Kristen Good to help make the layout and final product a reality. She has years of experience doing work similar to this and I have no doubt that the learning curve will be significantly reduced along the way. We may hit challenges but the ONLY reason we would have a delay would be to make this book perfect from story to illustrations to final physical product.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
