We are 3 Fright. A very small indie game company of 3 guys who have a passion for making video games.
3 Fright is: Gus Fink, Jeff Brown, & Doug Kavendek
- Gus is the idea guy, designer, & artist.
- Jeff is the 3D specialist and animator.
- Doug is the mastermind programmer.
FrightShow Fighter was born from Gus's desire to turn his bizarre characters into a unique fighting game. Jeff and Doug have worked together for over 8 years. They teamed up with Gus 3 years ago with the hope of getting their awesome, amazing, time-consuming, mega game into the hands of people like you!
At its heart, FrightShow Fighter is just like the classic fighting games you grew up with. There are 10 crazy characters, each with their own level and set of special moves. The sizes and speeds of all the characters vary greatly, so they all have unique advantages and disadvantages.
No way! FrightShow Fighter is like no other fighting game out there. Besides the unique art style, we've created a revolutionary input system to control movement and special moves on iPhone & iPad touch screens. Steam players on Windows or Mac will be able to play with a gamepad or even a keyboard.
We're also introducing a PowerUp System that lets your character gain temporary powers in the middle of the fight; like fireballs, increased defense, or flying. It's a classic fighting game at heart, so we'll always keep it funny, creepy, and original.
Play by yourself and choose from one of the many story mode maps. You'll fight against computer-controlled fighters of varying difficulties that can come at you with any combination of random PowerUps to create endless replayability. Earn new in-game PowerUps and rewards each time you successfully conquer a map. Your character can also gain experience and go up levels to increase attack and defense.
Play against other people by searching for friends or battling a stranger across the globe. With multiplayer capabilities, you'll be able to find one of your friends to play with, or be paired up with a random person of similar fighter strength.
The project is currently about 75% done. We've been working hard for over 3 years and have pushed production into full-force within the last 6 months, but there's still a lot left to do. Some of the bigger chunks include music, sound effects, menu screens, multiplayer capabilities, AI, and testing. We eventually have plans for cross-platform capabilities, including support for Android, Playstation, & Xbox.

Risks and challenges
All the characters are modeled, textured, rigged, animated, and most of the gameplay mechanics are finished. The biggest issues will be setting up and managing servers for multiplayer capabilities. There's also still extensive testing that needs to be done with the control systems that might require some tweaks to the initial design.
Depending on any stretch goal additions, getting the game on Steam, Xbox, & Playstation will be a new and exciting task for us.
