Warped Factor Four!
You Can't Have Your Fate and Edith, Too!
Without question, my favorite episode of the original series is "The City on the Edge of Forever." An episode that often makes the top of the list of people's favorite episodes and it's generally regarded as a great episode.
What better episode to lampoon?
A few of you might remember "Stalled Trek: Amutt Time," my first Animated Puppet Parody that I made in 2012 and are thinking, why is it taking you six and a half years to make another one? Well, remember the first one took 16 years to make.
It ain't called "Stalled Trek" for nothing!
"Stalled Trek: The City on the Edge of Forever" was a parody I first started in comic-book form in 2001, shortly after finishing a comic book version of "Amutt Time," but it was left by the wayside.
Last year, I pulled out the script and started re-writing it and was going to make it as a series of webcomics, but after a trip to the Star Trek Set Tour in Ticonderoga, NY, I really wanted to rebuild the bridge set and update the characters.
After a long side tour, I started modeling last month.
The film should be around 15 minutes long. I find that parodies work better in the short format.
I'm hoping to have it finished before the end of the year, but I'm giving myself some breathing space and setting the deadline for having everything finished (including bonus material!) and shipped by the beginning of April ...just in time for the anniversary of the original episode's airdate (April 6, 1967.)
I'm limiting the number of blu-rays to 250.
That might not seem like very many, but I'm still tripping over boxes of "Amutt Time" DVDs. If they do run out, you can still get the digital copy. It just won't come with the bonus material.
Making these cartoons has been a great fulfillment of my life's ambition. I can't thank you enough for helping me to make them real!
Live Long and Prosper!
