About this project
"Judas Breed - The Awakening" is about a woman named Connie Beaumont and her team of NASA scientists who embark on an expedition to an unknown planet in hopes of proving that life once existed there. While searching through one of the caves for micro organisms, Connie falls through a huge hole and finds herself standing in what appears to be a tomb, filled with alien skeletal remains. As the team examines one of the skeletons, Connie finds a fossilized alien anthropod attached to the vertebrae of the skeleton and decides to take it back to the ship. The fossil comes to life, attacks one of the crew members and attaches itself to the victim's vertebrae. The government finds out and keeps the victim and anthropod for themselves to do studies. While conducting more studies on earth, the victim is transformed into an alien and all hell breaks loose, as aliens threaten the lives of humanity. Connie and a hand full of Marines are forced to go into combat, as they search for the aliens nest to destroy it. This story is about family, government conspiracy, betrayal and the hopes of saving humanity from an alien outbreak.
What is "Judas Breed - The Awakening?"
This will be the first issue in the "Judas Breed" series by PenInkColor Studios, an independent company, created by writer Kenneth A. Brown. This story will be a sci-fi horror comic, set in the near future that will end up on earth.
Hello everyone, my name is Kenneth A. Brown and I'm a freelance screenwriter, and now it looks like I'm a comic book writer as well. So far, I've written 4 screenplays and just recently decided to convert one of them over to comic book format. "Judas Breed - The Awakening" will be the first story I'll try to put out....it's a non-stop action sci-fi horror story, that I'm sure will keep you quite entertained.
Ever since I can remember, all I wanted to do was write and direct movies. Out of frustration of trying to get my scripts looked at in Hollywood, I decided to take action myself and tell my stories the way I want, in a comic book.
My goal is to give every reader the same experience, as if they were watching a movie, only in a book. Not just from the writing, but also from the amazing artwork drawn by Ryan Best. Ryan is doing everything from pencils, inking and coloring the book. He's a one man band and is doing an awesome job.
Ryan Best, is an illustrator specializing in comics, concept art and storying boarding.
He studied art throughout high school, winning awards in the Scholastic Art competition and completing two years of AP Studio art. After high school, Ryan furthered his education at the University of North Carolina a Charlotte and in 2009, graduated with a BFA in Illustration. Since graduating, Ryan has been working as a freelance artist producing artwork for print advertisements, doing story boards for music videos, commercials and most recently illustrating comics.
HdE Smith, has been lettering in this capacity since 2010, and his work has appeared in a number of titles already, including the monthly series "Legend of Oz: The Wicked West", and the Vampires vs Werewolves (and Werebears) series 'Ursa Minor' for Big Dog Ink.
Other credits include lettering on the anthology title 'Break The Walls: Stories Inspired By The Music Of The Pixies', the Eagle Award nominated UK small press title 'Lou Scannon', and back up strips that appeared in IDW's hardcover edition of the fan favorite Transformers mini-series 'Last Stand Of The Wreckers'
The script for "Judas Breed - The Awakening" is completed. This Kickstarter campaign is to help get issue #1 Lettered and Printed. Because this is my first project, I'm still learning the process of how Kickstarter works, so I'm only starting off with the first issue, to see how far it goes.
The $3,000 needed to get everything done is for:
Kickstarter Fees - 5%
Credit Card Processing Fees - 3%
I am very excited about this project. My goal is to produce the best product I possibly can. I want you guys to be proud to be apart of this project.
We're at the home stretch now on the first issue. Ryan has finished penciling, inking and coloring the first issue of 27 pages.....that's were you guys come in, if we can have your support in getting the lettering and printing done, the first issue could be on its way to you in no time. I will keep you guys posted.
Hopefully with the success of issue #1 we can continue the series to the end, and have them all combined into one graphic novel.
Also, if we should go over our pledge goal amount, I'll have some nice extras to throw in for you guys.
My initial goal was to have the first issue completely done, so I could immediately start on issue #2. But over the course of time working on issue #1, I exceeded my funds and the project suddenly came to a halt. I am slowly trying to save up money myself to get back on track, but with your help, we can complete the book faster.

Risks and challenges
The artwork for the first issue has been completed. The next step is lettering and printing, so most of the hard work have already been done for issue #1. Should any anything happen that I did not foresee, I will handle it in a professional manner always having my backers best interest at heart. Without your support, the project cannot move forward.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
