Back from the smashing success of our previous Kickstarter campaign with over 1100 backers, we're excited to introduce our latest design:
A Titanium Knife & Tool For Your Wallet - Hand Made in the USA
$10K Stretch Goal Activated: 2 New Colors
$15K Stretch Goal Activated: Mini-TACK
For the $15,000 stretch goal, we've added a limited edition Titanium Mini-TACK. The Mini-TACK is designed to be carried as a neck knife, which can be worn around your neck, on your keys, or attached to gear with the included black Kydex sheath (Mini-TACK is NOT meant for your wallet).
Mini TACK is approximately 2 3/8" x 1 3/4" (60.17mm x 44.58mm) and .125" (3.18mm) thick. Mini-TACK is much thicker and smaller than the its bigger brother TACK and will be offered in the same colors as the standard titanium TACK. Mini-TACK comes with a black Kydex sheath and stainless steel ball chain. Available in Natural, Blue, Purple, Bronze, or Flame Anodized. Limited to only 100 pieces.
The typical "Every Day Carry" (EDC) items for most people are made up of gear that is necessary in our daily lives. These items include: keys, cell phone, pen, multi-tool, wallet, money, pocket knife, medication, sundry items, and a host of many other gadgets depending on your lifestyle.
Trying to carry just one more item in those skinny jeans just isn't going to cut it.
Just like a credit card, we've designed TACK to be carried in your wallet. A blade which can be carried with you at all times in your back pocket or purse.
TACK is an acronym for Titanium Anywhere Card Knife which was created using our minimalist design philosophy.
There's a lot of credit card type tools out there, that just don't "cut it". We knew that we could make something much better, which also happened to look good at the same time. So we put our heads together and came up with TACK. The end result was a tool that just simply made sense once you held it in your hand.
Our goal was to design TACK to be as thin and light as possible, without compromising structural integrity. We wanted to make TACK practical and functional, while being suitable for every day carry. So we made it similar in size to a credit card, which would conveniently fit in your wallet!
*One of the unintended benefits of TACK is that it may also block RFID readers or scammers from skimming your credit card info from your wallet, if placed correctly next to your credit card stripe.
Two versions of TACK available:
1) The Standard Titanium TACK (Titanium 6AL-4V)
2) The limited edition TACK Royale (Carbon Fiber and Titanium)
TACK is designed and made in the USA from grade 5 titanium (6AL-4V). We chose titanium because it's ultra lightweight, twice as strong as steel, anti-corrosive, and rust proof. You could actually leave TACK at the bottom of the ocean floor for 100 years and it would look the same as it did on day 1! Due to the the many benefits of titanium, it is commonly used in the aerospace, military, and medical industries. It was the perfect choice of materials for something that was going to live in your wallet.
In keeping with our minimalist design principle, we integrated many of its features within the structural frame of TACK.
- Weight: Approximately .5 oz
- Materials: 6AL4V Titanium (Standard Titanium Model) or US Sourced 6AL4V Titanium & Carbon Fiber (Limited Edition)
- Same size as a standard credit card
- Dimensions: 2.12" x 3.36" x .060" (53.9mm x 85.4mm x 1.2mm)
- Approximately the thickness of two credit cards (Std. Titanium Version)
While on the go, we've all had trouble opening those tamper-proof blister packs, cheese stick wrappers that refuse to let you in, or the worst offender of them all: the "peel here for easy open" packaging. The struggle is real. Well, in our best impersonation of film trailer announcer: Donald Leroy LaFontaine "In a world where titanium can become a credit card knife and fit in your wallet. Meet TACK."
- Utility Blade (Cut open boxes, envelopes, etc)
- Scraper (Scrape off stickers, clean windshield)
- Flat Head (For fixing on the go)
- Pry Tip (Prying staples, battery covers, etc)
- Bottle Opener
Our goal when creating TACK was to design the absolute highest quality, wallet sized utility tool anywhere. We chose the latest in material technology, which would not only be aesthetically pleasing, but most importantly practical and functional. No Origami skills required to use and no cheap plastic parts to break. Not only is TACK great for EDC, but you can also take it fishing, camping, scuba diving, or even up Mt. Everest. This is one solid piece of military grade titanium, which can withstand any environment you throw at it.
The result is an unparalleled wallet utility knife tool, which can be carried daily as a part of your EDC gear.
TACK is designed with safety in mind. We've integrated our Secure Grip Retention (SGR) system, which prevents your hand and fingers from slipping on to the sharp blade when being used. Our three finger design allows you to control TACK more accurately by reducing side to side movement when gripped.
We've incorporated multiple finger holds, which allow a perfect fit regardless of hand size.
Natural, Blue, Purple, Bronze, Flamed, or Satin Black
We offer our Standard Titanium TACK in a natural stone washed satin finish, however optional color anodizing also available in Denim Blue, Purple Haze, Naval Bronze, or Flame Anodized.
**Cerakote - Satin black now available for an additional $5.00
A satin black, thin film, ceramic coating using Cerakote. Cerakote is very durable, corrosion-resistant and provides unparalleled levels of hardness and adhesion. These coatings are also resistant to most solvents and chemicals. The foundation for Cerakote coatings is a unique ceramic technology that imparts both flexibility and excellent wear resistance to the final baked on coating.
What is color anodizing?
Titanium is considered a reactive metal, which can be color anodized by either heat or electricity via an electrolyte solution. By using electricity, we're able to achieve the desired colors by increasing or decreasing voltage. Just added a limited run of heat anodized TACK as one of our campaign stretch goals. This finish is a combination of the entire color spectrum achievable on titanium.
Each limited edition TACK Royale, is hand crafted one at a time from aerospace grade Titanium 6AL-4V and and authentic carbon fiber. The front side (show side), features a beautiful matte finish, high tech carbon fiber, which is permanently bonded to the titanium cutting edge using a propitiatory Geopolymer resin. Due to the fact that the carbon fiber cannot be water-jet cut by machine, we cut, shape, and epoxy each by hand one at a time. Each TACK Royale takes many hours to complete and the final result is beautifully finished tool, which will always be cherished by its new owner. The TACK Royale is a Kickstarter exclusive.
This combination of titanium and carbon fiber is not only aesthetically pleasing, but structurally sound. It allows us to minimize overall weight, while maintaining critical rigidity and durability.
Each TACK Royale will come with a custom hand sewn zip pouch/wallet. Each pouch is hand made by fellow artisans Jim and Darren of Northern Pouches and Pack located in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. These pouches will also be available for purchase as an "add-on" through the backer survey at the conclusion of this campaign.
These optional add-on's can be purchased by simply adding them to your overall pledge.
- Custom Handmade Leather TACK Wallet $85.00
- Tungsten Carbide Edge Treatment $5.00

Benjamin Bott is a fellow Massachusetts artisan that makes, hand made leather wallets using high quality Horween leather. We're big fans of his work and recruited his expertise when designing our limited edition TACK wallet. The result is an exquisite, hand crafted wallet that reflects a time when hand made was the gold standard. A skill that has been handed down by immigrants of “The Great Generation”, but with the exception of a few artisans, is quickly becoming forgotten. Fortunately for us, Benjamin Bott is keeping this craft alive.
The TACK Wallet features a dedicated slot on one side, which allows for quick and easy access of your TACK knife. On the opposite side you will find two additional credit card slots which will hold four credit cards or ID's. There's also an interior pocket which can hold both cash and additional credit cards (6+ cards). This exclusive design will be offered in either English Tan Dublin or Black Dublin Leather. Due to the time constraints of our campaign and the amount of work required to make each wallet, we're only able to offer 50 of these limited edition TACK wallets at this time.
Handmade Custom Leather TACK Wallet: $85 (Limited to 50 pieces)
At the end of this campaign all backers will receive a "backer survey", which will be sent to the email associated with your Kickstarter account. It will ask for important details such as your shipping address, color choices, add-on items, etc. You do not need to do this now. Just select your desired reward tier and we will collect all the other pertinent info at the end of the campaign via these backer surveys.
**Ordering Multiple Tier Rewards or Options:
If ordering multiple rewards or optional add-on items, simply combine the different reward tiers or add-on items together. Kickstarter will not allow you to choose multiple tiers. So just combine item totals together in one pledge.
- 1 TACK ($45) + 1 Wallet ($85) = $130
- 2 TACK's $45 + $45 = $90
- 1 TACK ($45) + Tungsten Carbide Edge ($5) = $50
The TACK knives shown in the video were pre-production prototypes. We experimented with different types of materials/finishes, anodizing techniques, and edge bevels. The final production version will be very similar to the pictures found under the sections: Standard Model and Limited Edition Model. Some of the prototypes seen in the video and pictures were used for reference only or to demonstrate color, fit, function, and size comparison.

Risks and challenges
This is our sixth project here on Kickstarter.
(The Fly Pry, The Fat Fly, The Dice Tool, Two Bit Fly, TRAK)
Our last Kickstarter campaign was a record breaker for us, with nearly 1200 backers! We hope to break that record with our latest design: TACK. A knife we're very excited to introduce to our Kickstarter family. We need your help on this project to help raise funding for raw materials, as well as, some new shop equipment that would help us keep this project 100% in house and rely less on outside manufacturing. This will also help us keep costs down for our dedicated backers.
We feel that the risks associated with this project are very minimal and fairly low. We've put together a very experienced team and have already gone through the build process with our current prototypes. Our team member and consultant on this project.
We have used our suppliers in the past and have established relationships with them. The only foreseen challenge would be if this project happens to go viral and we receive more orders than anticipated. While the limited edition TRAK knife will be hand crafted, if the demand for our standard titanium model exceeds 1000 pieces, we will look into streamlining the production process by automating some of the production steps. TRAK will still be made here in the USA, but some of the steps normally done by hand may be automated to keep the production on schedule (grinding bevels and sharpening). We will keep you updated on project developments or of any unexpected delays during our weekly updates. We have done our homework and do not anticipate any other risks or challenges.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
