Introducing the VeloComputer Smart Sensor 4 by SoundOfMotion.
The VeloComputer Smart Sensor measures cycling performance data with 1 degree precision. It uses Bluetooth 4.0 (low energy technology) to connect with your Android phone or iPhone 4s.
Detects 1cm ( ~ 3/8" ) of distance on a standard 700C wheel.
At least 360 times more accurate than traditional cycling sensors
1 second latency, up to 7 times faster than a traditional cycling computer
Built-in 3-axis accelerometer
Replaceable 3 volt CR2032 coin cell battery
Rigid plastic enclosure
Performance data precision:
- distance in 0.01 of a meter
- speed in 0.01 of a KMH
- acceleration in 0.01 of a KMH/second
- cadence 1 RPM
- grade of a slope in 1% increments
- power in 1 Watt
We have developed the VeloComputer mobile application for Android and iPhone 4S. The app is designed for battery conservation, glare reduction in the bright sun, and sharp visibility in low light. It utilizes our innovative feature VeloTones, which allows you to carry your smartphone in a saddle bag and get audible notifications when your performance data changes. All your performance data is recorded in a simple CSV file and can be uploaded to any training software or analyzed in a simple spreadsheet.

Research and Development
We have spent the last 6 years researching, developing and fine tuning our 1-degree precision wheel motion technology. We released our first sensor over 2 years ago. It was developed for track cycling and received appraisal from athletes from around the world. The new sensor is designed for road, track and mountain bikes.
We have teamed up with the best cycling computers manufacturer Echowell Electronic Co. Ltd. and are ready to go into production. We need help to get the sensor on your bike. The funding received through this campaign will be used to towards production cost and will ensure that we can deliver the sensor to you on time.
Yes the VeloComputer work on wheelchairs and gives wheelchair users the opportunity to see their acceleration and actually train by power.
No the VeloComputer Smart Sensor 4 will only be connectable with Bluetooth 4.0.
The cadence is measured by the main sensor body. A magnet is attached to the backside of the pedal, the main sensor body registers each time the pedal passes and this way cadence is measured.
