About

Advertising can inform, persuade, entertain, educate and inspire. We founded The Museum of Advertising to celebrate great creative work from around the World.

The nature of our work is disposable and ephemeral, which we’d like to change. Brand sponsorships go back to Ancient Rome, and modern advertising is as old as the printing press. We think this is worth preserving.

A lot can be learned about our past ideologies, trends and paradigms. Advertising says a lot about who we are as a society, our global economy, current events, our cultural differences as well as commonalities.

Advertising is print, TV, radio, and billboards. But it's also packaging, a celebrity endorsement, a tweet, a stunt, engaging experiences on and offline. A great idea can transcend the medium. The Museum is about celebrating great creative work that shapes our culture, not the stuff that annoys, manipulates, interrupts or adds to the clutter. Now is the perfect time to celebrate the advertising of the past, and look ahead to the future of our creative industry.

About the Museum

The Museum of Advertising is a 501(c)(3) organization, founded in NYC by advertising executives Glenn Pajarito and Doug Scott, along with a Board of Advisors and Trustees.

Your Contribution

Most large museums are built on trusts or foundations with large endowments. To date, the Museum has been entirely self-funded and sustained by volunteers, but our continued growth depends on your support, which will provide essential resources to our planning and development.

Your contribution will go toward scaling up our operational resources including legal, a dedicated archivist, a site selection manager, and an exhibition design team. This will greatly accelerate development and enable us to secure partnerships and sponsorships, that support our $10 million funding goal.

Risks and challenges

It will take a couple of years to raise the capital needed to build our collection and secure the real estate for our permanent home in Manhattan. We plan to launch traveling pop up exhibits in 2019, and open a permanent location for the Museum in 2021.
