The German printed cookbook
The German version of The Lotus and the Artichoke - Vegane Rezepte eines Weltreisenden arrived from the printers on May 31st, 2013! The 2nd printing of the English edition of The Lotus and the Artichoke - Vegan Recipes from World Adventures was also sent directly from the new printers in Freiburg, way down south in Germany's famous Black Forest. (Oooh, Der Schwarzwald!)
This shipment of 1500 books (out of a total 5000 printed) was delivered to my storage facility here in Berlin. The other books went to my new publishing and distribution partners, Ventil Verlag & Kochen ohne Knochen.
I mailed over 250 cookbooks in the last three weeks: including Kickstarter rewards, pre-orders, and recent orders from lotusartichoke.com. It's been an incredibly busy, exciting time around here at Lotus Headquarters!
It's not too late...
If you – or anyone you know – missed the 1st and 2nd Kickstarter campaign, or otherwise still want a printed copy of The Lotus and the Artichoke, here's where to go:
The Lotus and the Artichoke - Vegan Cookbook (ENGLISH)
The Lotus and the Artichoke - Veganes Kochbuch (DEUTSCH)
Backers, If want to download either the English ebook or German ebook – especially if you somehow didn't get your download link, or want a different language version (free!) – please send me a message and I'll help you out.
Were you expecting a German printed cookbook or other reward and didn't receive it? Please send me a message or email. I will figure out what happened and correct the situation immediately. I made special arrangements with many of you (for pickups or add-on rewards) and I want to make sure you got what you were promised.
I'm Feeling the Love...
Especially on The Lotus and the Artichoke Facebook Page. Thank you again, so, so much for your generosity and your gracious comments. This project would never have been successful without your help and support.
The Dinner Party in Berlin
Check out the photos below from the Vegan Dinner Party in Berlin on Saturday, June 8th, 2013. The 5-course vegan meal was a special reward for certain German Cookbook Kickstarter backers who generously pledged to the project. (One of them was even kind enough to offer her kitchen and spacious, gorgeous apartment for the event. Dankeschön!)
We enjoyed 9 recipes from The Lotus and the Artichoke cookbook:
All in all, it was about 10 hours in the kitchen and 4 at the table with the guests. Meeting great people, yummy food, talking about travel, languages, the city, and more. A pretty awesome way to spend a Saturday, if you ask me.
Lots of Lotus Love,
p.s. My friends Chris & Jon from The Vegan Zombie just launched their graphic novel vegan cookbook Kickstarter campaign. Get in on the action, snatch up a great reward, and help make their vegan cookbook happen.
