Hi Markus-- I've mailed many cookbooks to Packstation addresses in Germany. No problems yet!
Hi Justin, quick question regarding shipping in/to Germany: Is a "Packstation" address ok? (i.e., are you sending the packages with DHL?)
Thanks for letting me know Chris!
Book arrived in California Thank you!
Hey Adam! There should be another package -- I sent two. Hopefully you got everything for the whole family. Good luck with the Paneer Makhani -- post a photo (on FB) if you wanna! I wrote that recipe especially for you, bro! ;-)
Rec'd my book and goodies on 12/31 !! Awesome Awesome Awesome. Seriously, I'm going to make paneer mahkani sometime before Sunday at midnight - can't wait! Ty Justin!
Ah ha Great thanks Justin, will let you know when it arrives :-)
Chris- actually not so-o-o strange that Spain and Germany would get their books sooner. The rewards were shipped from Berlin. :-) I do already have several confirmed California arrivals. According to my notes, your book was sent on Dec 15. It should arrive any day! Let me know, ok?
Hope to see my copy soon, it was shipping to the US so a bit weird that it's arrived in Spain and Germany but not California :-)
Thanks for letting me know, Chris! You're most certainly welcome. Have fun in the kitchen, and Happy New Year! (It's already 2013 where you are!)
The books arrived in Australia. They look amazing! Thanks Justin.
Hi Impaler! Great news that the book made it to you safely... and you like it! Thanks for letting me know, and I hope you'll get to try some of the recipes. I'm sure you can tempt some friends to come over for a cooking+dinner party.
Hooray! My cookbook (and some cool goodies!) showed up today - all the way from Deutschland to Austin, Texas! (Shipping/packaging was perfect - everything is in prime condition.) The book looks AMAZING. I just wish I wasn't so lazy when it comes to buying groceries and cooking... everything looks delicious! I will find a way to try some of this out soon. Thank you!
Thanks for letting me know, Ruth! Happy Christmas! Enjoy!
Both books and tote have arrived! So happy and cant wait to give my spare book as a Christmas gift! :)
Victor! So glad it arrived well... and quickly! Happy Xmas and New Year to you and yours, too!
Received my book in Spain, truly awesome!
Happy Xmas & New Year
Thanks, Filip! It was fun to talk to you for so long. I was especially excited to meet someone who knows my favorite South Indian vegetarian restauarant in Paris! Enjoy the book!
I picked up my book last night directly from Justin' Place and met the chef and writer :)
The book is pretty good and you really feel the personal touch of Justin in the choice and quality of recipes. Lot of Indian Food (my favorite) but also other countries.
I got my stickers and bookmarks :)
Besides, I have a birthday tonight and I'm going to test the lemon tart that Justin recommended me.
We talked for nearly an hour and I understand the difficulty of producing a book like this one and tribulations he had to undergo.
This book will get a special place in my culinary book collection. I recommend this book, being vegetarian too, to make a culinary world tour with Justin anecdotes about his meetings and travels.
We have in France among others "Wine Route", this is not here the Silk Road, but this book is much like Vegan Road :)
A beautiful "tasty" Book.
Sven, Thanks! Did you see this yet? http://www.lotusartichoke.com/general-tsos-chicken/
Justin, verrrrrrrry cool! Congrats on a job terrifically well done!
Ps: can't wait to try out the Chinese ones
Thanks B! I'm still floating over here! I'll be putting up more recipes online if you want to get a headstart! I'd love to hear any feedback or crit you have, too (via FB or email) before the recipes go to print in Nov!
CONGRATS JUSTIN!!!!!! Can't wait to see your cookbook, and most importantly, USE IT! Yum yum nom nom.
Hi Alexander, I'll be setting up 1 or 2 pickup dates in December for anyone in Berlin. It will really help with packaging and postage time / costs. You'll get your stuff sooner, and I'm excited to get to meet the people who made this possible! Like you!
Congratulation for the successful funding!!!
I would like to get my printed copy directly here in Berlin when its ready.
Did I miss something in the description that this is not possible maybe?
Check! Reached all goals!
Good quote! Funny! Yeah, we did it! Amazing!! Thank you! Ick freu mir ooch!
I don't believe there is anything in the whole earth that you can't learn in Berlin except the German language.
- Mark Twain's Notebook
Well, it can be done. You did it. The proof of the (vegan) pudding is in the eating. Ik freu mir druff!
Thanks, Grace! Moosewood Cookbook was one of my very first vegetarian cookboooks, from over 20 years ago. My mom introduced that cookbook and it's recipes to me, too! I'm still impressed by all the hand-lettering and illustration.
Looking forward to cooking with this :)
-the woodblocks remind me of my mom's old Moosewood cookbook
We can achieve the final goal if all backers raise their Pledge only for about 2$ :)
Yes! We crossed the $12,000 funding goal in the night. I'm working on the official Update... and already working on the new recipes! Let's see how things go in the next 2 1/2 days!
WOW, we're at 12,000! :) Can't wait to make those Asian recipes mm~ Wonder if we could get a push to the last goal...
Thanks, David! I totally appreciate your getting the word out! I look forward to sending your cookbooks and thanks for your generous contribution!
I have let my friends at Pynchon Collective (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pynchon-Collective/346341855387352…) know about this project :), looking forward a copy
Hi Rory, That is certainly the plan to have the rewards to their destinations before Xmas. I'm expecting to have the printed cookbooks at the end of November and to ship them in early December. Indeed, nice gift! :-)
are we likely to receive the books prior to xmas? it'll make a very nice present!!!
You're very welcome, Anna! Your comments are so kind and flattering! It's people like you who make this project and all its work so rewarding and worthwhile for me. :-)
Oh and I just want to say thank you for making veggie food so delicious and accessible. Most veg cookbooks just pile on cheese so it's great to see your recipes!
Thanks for the speedy reply! :o I love your artwork, I'm sure the bag will be gorgeous. :)
Hi Anna! Yes, I am 95% sure the tote (and t-shirt) design is going to be based on the blockprint design, but I might make new art for it with just the lotus flower and artichoke elements, probably still with the words on banners, but without the globe.
Heya! Any ideas on what the tote will look like?
Thanks, Alexander! Hopefully we'll bring in enough funding to secure the German edition for March 2013 as well! I appreciate your support.
Thanks for your contribution, Wisdom! I'm very excited about the stretch goals, too, and am anxious to see how things go in the next two weeks!
totally cool project! would love to gift the german edition.
Totally stoked about the stretch goals.. especially at the $12K level. I'm spreading the word and hoping you hit all the targets!
And we are funded with 3 weeks to go! :DDDD!!!
