We (Emily, Megan, Scotty, Tom and Gruff) were in a band called 'The Beautiful Word.' We made 3 DIY albums and played hundreds of shows and were very happy making mystery pop together and being our own bosses.
However, from August 2014 to August 2015, Megan was recovering from a giant vocal cyst and we were not able to play. Not playing was surprisingly traumatic - it's a big part of us all! It's helped us appreciate how much we need to make music and how grateful we are that people listened.
Now recovered, we still sound like us but with new influences brought on by listening to new music together and the songs we made when Megan couldn't sing and played synths instead. We realised in the break that we had come a long way from our 2007 debut, so we've changed our name to 'Bloom.'
We are proud of the new songs, ecstatic that we are playing again, and really would like everyone who likes our music to be part of this first 'Bloom' release. We're just a little band in the DIY scene, as long as someone is listening we get to exist. Your support means the world.
We plan to manage the production and distribution of this album ourselves. This means we get to make it how we feel it should be made - on limited edition 2 colour vinyl. Anyone that backs the project will get a link to immediately download a live EP from our 2015 Worthing show to hear live versions of some of the tracks we want to record.

Risks and challenges
If one of us is unwell or injured the project would be delayed. In the unlikely event that one of our members leaves us, this would again cause a delay.
Our production costs are quotes from manufacturing companies we have either used ourselves or (in the case of the vinyl which we have not made ourselves before) are widely used and trusted.
We have a few recording studio options within our budget so the risk of that side of the project falling through is small, even if those options fall through it will only cause a delay whilst we seek new ones.
This is the fourth album we have produced together, although it is the first vinyl. Any unforeseen obstacles we will immediately share with you all - and surely resolve!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
