About

This initiative came about as a result of a personal need as a woman, mother and artist to take action and change the sad reality that so many abused, neglected, abandoned and exploited children face daily, while living and surviving the streets of most Latin American countries in inhumane conditions. Millions of children live in extremely impoverished areas in Latin America and are subject to human trafficking, exploitation, abuse, desease and victimization daily. Many efforts go unnoticed or are not enough to eradicate this horrendous epidemic that affects many countries worldwide. We have come so far as human race and made so much progress in areas such as medicine, technology, space, science, peace and integration, while the foundation of any society, the children, are still forgotten and dying. This is the story of Pedro, a 7 year old boy who walks barefoot and who survives the streets. With the making of this music video , its distribution worldwide and sponsorship of world organizations I intend to raise consciousness on the imperative responsibility we all have to combat these inhuman conditions through a different perspective; the one of a mother who sees in that street child her “own” child. What would happen, and how different would their reality be if we were all able to see those children as our own? That’s why you, and/or your company as a contributor to the funding of this project would be a detrimental part of this vision and lifetime mission of mine to make an impact and become agents of change by helping shape a new reality, a new way of life for the victimized and forgotten children of the streets. I will share the story line of the music video to the song “No se por que” below.

FIRST SCENE opens up with mother tucking her 7 year old child in bed at night . This is a quick, tender and sweet scene, mom gives him her blessings on his forehead, caresses his hair and smiles at him whispering sweet goodnight words in his ear. The child’s face is not revealed here in this scene, we only see the side and back of his head and hair. Mother turns off light and goes back to her bed to read a book as she falls asleep. The song starts playing here as we switch from that reality to her dream. SECOND SCENE: We are transported to the streets. The child, 7 year old Pedro, wakes up in a corner of a dirty cold street, you can see the cardboard that covered him at night, his face is dirty, his hair long and unruly, his clothes are old and torn. All of a sudden we see the mother being transported into the dimension of her dream/nightmare, and she shows up there next to the child Pedro. She does not realize it’s a dream so she runs towards him to touch him, calling him, trying to save him, in shock and terrified she follows him throughout his daily chores as a child of the streets . We see him on a corner stopping cars for a coin, going through garbage to find food, we see him walking barefoot by the train platform ( this way following the song lyrics which mentions all this). We also see him innocently playing with a paper boat smiling and still displaying childhood hope in his expression when a nasty old man steps all over his paper boat destroying it, suggesting the viewer that he will exploit Pedro in some horrible way. While all these scenes go on, the mother desperately observes all this without being able to change this reality since she is dreaming and observing it from another dimension. Therefore she is there without being able to touch him, caress him, save him. When she tries to get to him, she bumps into a see through glass that stops her from getting to him. These scenes are going to switch back and forth with the THIRD SCENE. In this scene we see Silvina the artist, singing the song. This scene will have to be shot in a field of WHEAT. Silvina will be singing in front of or inside the wheat field, WHEAT is mentioned in the song lyrics metaphorically referring to the daily bread, food. That’s why she is singing in that location in particular. This scene will have a yellow tint all over and will be filmed at sun set or sun rise to achieve that color and soft yellowish lighting. The band can be playing next to her, soft wind blowing the wheat field, her hair and dress. This scene should look beautiful, and hopeful as a contrast from the harsh and sad reality of Pedro and survival on the streets. FOURTH SCENE We see the mother on her bed again, as her 7 year old child is waking her up. His little voice saying: “ Mommy wake up” ( echo) suggesting she is coming back from her dream into her reality. We see her face waking up and for the first time we see his face, revealing his identity as the same child Pedro, we saw on the streets. Both boys are the same boy. The mother’s face lights up when she sees that it was all a dream and that he is safe and sound back in her arms. She hugs him and kisses him loving him even more!! When we become parents we start seeing the world from a different perspective and humanity becomes and feels more our own responsibility. Getting used to seeing these abandoned and exploited children is immoral and wrong. . This video intends to raise consciousness that if we look at those children as our own, we would take action to change the sad reality they have to live in.

Risks and challenges

We have been doing the most with the least amount of resources, as we Latinos are usually used to and able to do!! This has been so far a self financed project, a dream, a life long vision and mission of mine that stems from seeing those poor street angels suffering a surviving, living a miserable existence. If you live in dirt, eventually you either clean and change the conditions, or you get used to seeing and living with dirt and dirt becomes the new normal. At this point, dirt becomes a familiar place, it is no longer dirt, but your way of living. Same thing happens when governments do not do anything to eradicate extreme poverty. These kids become invisible, people start getting used their permanent presence on the streets and they start to become part of the landscape, no longer an issue with an urgent priority. One day when I was finally able to travel back to my home town in Buenos Aires after 10 years of not being there, at a traffic light, I saw him, my Pedro, the protagonist of my story. He was around 7 years old and he was barefoot. His little feet dirty and hurt, begging for something . My 7 year old boy was comfortably sitting next to me, clean, safe, healthy, and wearing shoes. The contrast between them was like a slap in the face, like an eye opener, and that minute wait at the traffic light turned into an eternity. As tears streamed down my face, I also saw my mission and calling spelled out clearly right in front of me. I was not able to sleep well for the first two nights of my stay but on the third morning, as I opened my eyes, the song lyrics of "No se por que" were magically pouring, from the Universe into my mind and onto the paper. This is how "No se por que" was created. I knew from that moment on, that something had to be done, but this time, from another perspective. The view of a mother, who sees in that child, her own child. This is how first the song and later on, the video idea were created and brought to light. There have been many challenges and blocks on the road, mainly financial ones. This is a project that goes way beyond me as an artist, and it extends as an imperative need, a call for action. It is so big and challenging that it scares me, because I know what needs to be done, but I need help. Everyone's help!! I have an amazing team of people who have made everything we have possible so far, but more people, money and all kinds of resources are needed in order to take this project to the next level, and change this reality for ever, this way changing the world. I need YOUR HELP!!! Financial help, human resources, contacts, influencing people in media/tv, owners of companies and CEOs of organizations, we all need to take this into the world and change the lives of millions of children who are forgotten by us, the adults, by the world. Help me bring this project to completion, as far as we can take it, break down barriers, beat odds, and set new standards for a new reality. Please pledge, share this page among your circle of influence, and CONTACT me if you can help in any way!!!!!!
