About this project
We, the Hula Honeys took a trip from Maui to the mainland to try our hands at a new way of recording. We got on a big airplane and took a risk. We invited our two GRAMMY winning friends Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer to be our Producers, Kim Person to be our Engineer and we took over Charlie Pilzer's magnificent studio, Airshow in Takoma Park, Maryland just outside Washington, DC.
We had a fantastic time playing our ukuleles and tenor guitar and singing our little Hula Honey Hearts out.
We asked Gerald Ross to play lap steel, Ralph Gordon to play bass, Marcy Marxer to play guitars, resonator guitar, ukuleles and snare drum, Seth Kibel to play clarinet and sax, Graham Breedlove to play trumpet and Lenny Williams to play glorious piano and vibes.
Now, we're asking you to play, too! The recorded tracks are finished. Next is mixing, mastering, duplication, artwork, manufacturing, radio campaign, promotion and distribution. We would love some help from you to get this sweet recording finished and in your hands by the middle of August, 2013. We've put as much ALOHA into the rewards as we've put into the music.
To Help fund this album, simply decide how much you would like to contribute and pick your reward. Signed copies of the new CD, a hand painted coconut (decorated by us!), a Mango-rita cocktail recipe, good karma, concert in your home, personalized voicemail messages and more.
You can also help us by spreading the word among your friends, family, and social networks.
We hope you have as much fun joining us as we are having making this recording for you.
The Hula Honeys
A Warm Hello from Marcy,
I met the Hula Honeys on Maui a few years ago. Their talent and humor won my heart right away. They didn't have ant videos on Youtube so I took out my Flip video and started filming. These videos were taken in Ginger's yard. You might need to turn up the volume. What a fun time we had! Friends are the best part of life.

Risks and challenges
We have set a release date of August 2, 2013. We plan to have CDs available for our biggest show and teaching event of the year, the Ukulele and Guitar Summit at The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland August 10-14, 2013. We don't expect that there will be challenges to that date, especially with your help. If there is a production delay we will keep you posted.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
