My name is Nathan, my day job is a community pastor, but in my spare time I am using my creativity to bring creative ideas to life! A lifelong game fanatic, this is my first game that I believe has the potential to become a family staple! I have however published my own book (check it out on Amazon - The Art of Bad Management) and have a large network of contacts in the UK from which I am confident that I can get this game talked about, but more importantly bought and played and loved! I am also a qualified teacher, having spent 6 years teaching in primary schools.
The game is a card game, with rapid turns and involvement throughout, even when it is not your turn. Easy to pick up, but with elements of strategy that even a 5 year old can understand, it is ideal for a family, as well as groups of friends looking for a quick after dinner game. Using fairy-tale and commonly known characters, it is readily accessible to both young and old with an instinctive understanding of what each card does. With a clear overall strategic aim, but with changing decisions for each hand, it ensures people will want to play it again and again.
The Next steps
I am raising funds to bring this game to life! It is already play tested with a prototype, I now need the resources to commission custom artwork and produce an initial run of the game for onward selling. The funding target is large, however to bring the cost per game down to a reasonable price (and in line with other games in the genre already on the market), I will need to have it made in bulk orders (A run of at least 1000 games should then fund the next batch and so on but this will cost between 5k and 8k).
The funds will be spent on the following:
* Commission original artwork (approx 10% of funds raised)
* Bulk order of standard game (Majority of funds)
* Distribution, shipping and payment
* Initial launch advertising
Risks and challenges
Once I have original artwork, the game can be produced in days. I will be utilising one of several online manufacturers which means I can guarantee delivery with a good degree of confidence. I have allowed a few months for the process of art work to be finalised and then avoiding the Christmas rush!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
