Centauri Dominion is a space shooter inspired mainly by an old mac game called Lunatic Fringe. I am a solo indie game developer and up until now have funded and coded the game.
You play the role of a fighter pilot who patrols the sector of a newly found planet in the Centaurus Constellation. You must protect incoming civilian transports from a previously unknown alien civilization who is also attempting to dominate the sector.
Throughout your mission you will find various pickup items scattered across the sector which will get you out of a tight spot.
As you level up in the game you will need to purchase upgrades for your ship, weapons and base if you want to have a chance at beating your opponents.
To purchase upgrades you will need to destroy asteroids, collect the minerals they drop and bring them back to the base to unload them.
You have four weapons at your disposal throughout the game. Mines which can be laid in the path of an enemy or used as a temporary protective measure around your base. Three missile types; Armour penetrating, high explosive and heat seeking. Each missile has its own advantages and disadvantages. Armour penetrating missiles are unlimited and will deal a consistent damage no matter what they hit. High explosive missiles are great at destroying asteroids and energy shields but hopeless at anything else. Heat seeking missiles are great for when you are unable to aim due to damaged modules and have a high damage value with the exception of asteroids and energy shields.
At regular intervals a frigate ship makes a delivery of minerals from the new colony to your base, an amount which increases every time a civilian transport arrives safely.
There are four difficulty levels which you can select to suit your play style.
As you destroy enemies and level up you will find new types of enemy ships each with unique abilities. The final ship that arrives in the sector is the mothership. Once destroyed you will be able to destroy the remaining alien ships in the sector and win the game.

Risks and challenges
Due to the 3D modeller I have been buying all my models from removing all content and accounts from the internet, I now have to look at another source for the remaining alien ship models.
I may be able to buy the six new models I need and have them re-textured to suit the current alien models else I will replace the current models with a new set. A third option would be to pay someone to create the remaining ships I need from scratch that suit the current theme of the game.
Provided the project is funded I will have the funds to be able to replace all the current models to complete the game.
Any extra money will go towards steam direct payment, additional sound effects and speeding up development time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
