WOW. 34 HOURS TO GO AND WE ALREADY MADE OUR GOAL.
Overwhelming gratitude for all the support from so many people to make TACOMA happen.
And now every extra cent will go straight to the actual production of TACOMA -- which will really count since our budget is so tiny. Please spread the word especially to those who want to support a female director and a genre film with three strong complex female leads. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Laura is stuck in a dead-end real estate job in Tacoma, Washington where she lives and works with her domineering mother. Her one escape from their claustrophobic life together is a beginning modern dance class at the local community center. But when her dance teacher is brutally murdered in a short-sale scam gone bad, she doesn't know who to trust.
WHAT'S THE MONEY FOR?
To make TACOMA happen.
TACOMA is a low-budget feature film shooting this summer. We need seed money to jump start the production so we can secure locations, the cast, travel and legal counsel.
I have spent the last four years writing this thriller. Managing the storylines of a thriller requires serious plotting and planning. My walls have been covered in an endless rotation of charts and graphs. But the real challenge was balancing all that with the specific characters and tone that led me to this story: a mother-daughter thriller that takes place in real estate offices and dance classes in the Pacific Northwest.
Above is a video I made for this kickstarter campaign to capture this vision -- a classic thriller genre but with the character nuances and style of an independent film. If it appeals to you please donate what you can and spread the word. This kickstarter campaign for seed money is the first crucial step to getting TACOMA made this summer and we can't do it without you.
