Meeple Maker is a 2-4 player light strategy game that plays in about 30-60 minutes.
Your goal is to get the most fans. To get fans, you'll utilize (spend) content to produce games tailored to their demands. To meet those demands, you'll develop content with help from the internet.
When you meet the demands of the market, you get fans and a new recruit for your company. They join your media, design, production and/or graphics team where they help develop immersive worlds, deep mechanics, valuable components, and wondrous artwork - all the things you need to achieve success.
To succeed, not only will you need to get the best people, but you'll have to recruit them before anyone else.
Meeple Maker is for those times when you want:
- To play a 90 minute game in 45 minutes.
- Choices to matter, but not overwhelm.
- Goals to be clear, but strategies flexible.
- A big box game in a small box space.
- A competitive worker placement game, without the grunt work.
The game provides many decisions to make and many paths to take. Your goal is to make sure the path you choose provides you with the most fans. Players take turns either:
Moving their tokens on the board and gaining the content shown at the websites they move to,
OR they spend content to gain cards. The cards each have a listed cost, and give you skills (which help generate more content) and fans (score).
But what if you don't like your options? Then change them! Collect special Favor cards to turn the game in your favor. You can play these multi-function cards at the start of your turns to change:
- The market
- Websites (the game board)
- Your content
The right combination at the right time can be a game-changer.
Need to develop content for your games? Then visit a website that offers the content you want.
You'll always have three websites to choose from - each with a unique and changing combination of content.. Players skip over other players, simultaneously blocking websites and opening up new ones.
Want more fans and a bigger company? Then utilize your content to get yourself into a new market! Produce the type of game they want, and they'll bring fans and a skillful new employee. Those skills help with developing content and achieving the end-game bonuses.
Thus, you'll have several factors to consider:
- The type and amount of content they demand,
- How many fans and skills they give you,
- How much those skills are worth at the end of the game,
- Where to recruit from.
Every time your company grows, the market changes, so choose carefully!
As companies grow, it gets tougher to develop content without a strong team. In the game, players mimic this by choosing one token to flip at a time, gradually turning up the pressure. When the last has been turned, time's up! l hope your company has what it takes to grab the last few fans and lead you to victory!

I've spent years perfecting Meeple Maker - pouring all my efforts into creating the best possible game. To keep the manufacturing costs low, I had to keep two sets of characters out. These two player mats (with their own powers) are ready and waiting for when we reach our funding and push towards stretch goals.

I am the driving force behind Meeple Maker. But there have been dozens that helped. Many are friends from the Dallas Games Marathon, the Dallas Designer Group, or numerous conventions I've attended. Thank you for being a part of my journey - this game is for you.
For Meeple Maker, I'm self-publishing because I want to experience publishing a game. My long term goal is to use this experience to help others.
The art and graphic design, the audio and video, the game design and development, the prototypes - from cards, to chits, to boxes, the folding boards- I've created them all on a shoe-string budget. Every challenge has strengthened my resolve to make this the best game it can be.
Risks and challenges
I've faced and overcome many risks and challenges. Meeple Maker has been playtested (and blind playtested) rigorously. The majority of the files are ready to be sent to the manufacturer for final proofing, although some final artwork will be created and adjusted. Even the most seasoned publishers deal with manufacturers, distributors, shipping companies, postal services, government regulations etc. – all of which can create unexpected changes. I have alternative plans for each step and I’ve built in a little breathing room in the funding to deal with any problem that may arise.
I support and follow many similar projects, and have since early 2013. I've paid attention to their problems and how they've resolved them. I'm also a long-standing member of the Dallas Designer Group - which has helped produce games like Dragon Valley, Mage Wars, Lanterns, World's Fair 1893, The Great Debate, Mahola and others. I've helped many in conventions and through their KS projects. I'm confident that should any issues arise I have the right team to advise me on the best solutions.
Shipping is always a concern - especially since it will be months before shipping occurs and price, policy and tax issues may change. Should any such issues occur, I will inform those that it affects and discuss how best to proceed. I've alternate plans prepared for this.
